I bought a wall adapter from cignot, and it didn't work with my three Volcano Magma 510 passthroughs. But the car adapter I bought from Cignot works fine with the same passthroughs.

I'm waiting for three 7-port USB wall adapters from a Hong Kong eBay dealer (didn't notice he was in Hong Kong when I bought them), so I'm hoping they will work with my PTs.

Also, the wall adapter/charger that came with my Volcano regular 510 battery works with the passthroughs, but now and then, the PT will quit working for a few seconds, like it's not getting the power from the wall adapter (but I've had this same problem when the PTs are plugged into the USB ports on my computers).

I think you just need to find the right AC to USB adapter to work with your PT. I remember that someone advised to buy the AC to USB adapter at madvapes.com -- and that it should work with my PTs.

It's the last item listed on this page, and there's also a car adapter that should work for you on this page:

Seems to me a usb port is a usb port (5 volts is 5 volts). Might be a problem with the wall wart. You can get those just about anywhere if your supplier isn't fast enough on the warranty replacement. Just mind the amp rating on the one that you're replacing. Most of the cheap ones at the computer supply are meant for cell phone chargers and the like and usually light on the current rating.

Thanks for reminding me I forgot to add a passthru when I put in a $100 order for other hardware a couple hours ago. I spend enough time at my desk I've been meaning to get one. It'll just wait until I order more stuff...

Vicki sent me another wall adapter, just like the first one that wouldn't work with my USB passthrough. Both were 1000mAh adapters. Neither worked, so I returned both to Cignot. I also tried plugging the adapter into other wall outlets and surge strips. Nothing worked, so there has to be an incompatibility issue with the following adapter.

a 5V passthru (without a battery) will need 1.5A to 2.0A. Most wall power supplies will put out 500mA (.5A). same of some car adpators. Look for one rated for 2A output. Depending on your computer it may be able to handle the amps but most buy a wall wart that can output 2 amps so they don't risk frying anything inside their computer. Was some talk about USB 2.0 ports in some computers being able to handle it but why risk it when a 2.0 amp wall wart can be had for $10. The pass thru that have a battery can be used on a computer port but then the output is about 3.7 volts from the battery and not 5 volts.
