I could be wrong, but I think that is recommended over plugging it into your computer. I've heard they can short out your motherboard! I live on the wild side though and just plug it into my computer :) I tried using my phone charger, but the amps aren't high enough (only 1A) and it just wasn't enough! But I bought the car usb connector and it work amazingly with my PT!! I l am running out of uses for my batts! I'm always using my PT!

I am not a tech person, just want to let every one know, first hand, yes you can burn out the usb ports in an older computer. A few weeks ago a friend gave me his old laptop, it is about 6 yrs old. Was using the passthru on it and fried the ports. Thankfully there are 2 more usb ports for the mouse, and I did not burn out the motherboard. I had been using the passthru on hubbies computer with out any problems so I didnt think about it and just transferred to the new to me computer. Live and learn. :)

I use an ipad usb charger port all the time with my PT, it's probably safer than a PC port. Any 2amp AC/USB adaptor will work, and so will the car adaptor. Most AC/USB aadaptors are not 2amp so make sure it is before you buy it or it's only good for rechargeing batts.

Disappears, vaporizes into the sunrise/set.
