I've kinda gotten away from using them as of late. But, I've bought five or six and used to use them quite a bit. I've had two of them fail at what seemed to me to be a premature lifetime ... meaning several weeks.

EDIT: info added as per GrimReaper in post #5: One of them was a KR808D-1 fromV4L, the other was a 510 and I'm not sure where I bought it.

Yeah, I should have added specifics:

I'm writing in this forum cause all my supplies are from RMV, I have never had anything but the best service and products from them.

I'm using a joye510 manual usb 5v pt, this last one lasted 2 1/2 months of nightly usage ( moderate to heavy) using attys that I have removed the 'guts' from and strictly drip with.
My 1st pt ( 18 mnths ago) was the old inline batt type, lasted maybe 4-5 mths, the 2nd one was the no inline batt manual 510, lasted again 4-5 mths.
Just wondering how long they last for others, maybe I beat up on them too much or maybe they all have varying life spans depending on usage, guess I should have a good supply of back ups. I like the pt when I'm at home, they keep my other manual 510 batts from dying so fast ( I've had 2 manual 510 batts last me a year using each one on and off, I'm only on batt 3&4 after 18 mths)

The ones made in China from reports on here going back over a year do not last that long. A few weeks to a few months if you use it daily. Usually the wire connections come apart. You see how thin the wire is. But considering how little they cost, I'm not sure I would expect them to last much longer.

Thanks wv2win,
I was so naive on the longevity of these pt's, I forget that I'm getting (possible)months of use from $15.

I have purchased 2 KR8 PT 's from litecigusa.net..the first one died after 2 weeks Shawn replaced it but for something that looks like something that was modded from a regular 510 into a PT. It actually has an LED light on the end with a hole in it for the USB cord to come thru . I cant even use the thing. I get no pull on it when I suck The KR8 was a manual by the way. I ordered another from the same vendor same model this time an automatic PT with the same results. I assused maybe it was something I was doing wrong, maybe dripping too much juice that got into the battery and killed them. So I didnt send the 2nd one back.

I have a cheap 5V 901 one that has lasted around 5 months - but I looped the cord and taped it to the pv part so I could not pull the cord - it seems where the cord goes in through the ltd is its weak spot. Before that I had 2 4081 automatic passthroughs that only a couple of weeks because juice got in them

This is a very hard question to answer. It does depend on usage. I feel 4-6 months is what you should get out of them but some die within a month and others I have had last me a year. I have had, like others die in a couple weeks.
I will replace for 3 months. I dont find the cord to be a huge problem with the ones I carry now. I find they just get weird when they die. I have to press the button a couple times to get it to hit right.

I have recently had delays with the person who supplies this for me. I get my 36mg and 510 passthroughs from the same source and I am considering finding new sources for both. If anyone has a recommendation on 510 passthroughs I would love to hear about it

I have not had any spikes in returns recently. It is based partially on use and luck. Some die quicker then others, but overall I have a small return rate on this item. I have a warranty so if they die that quick just email me
The biggest issue I have with this item is that they are picky with power sources.
