I have purchased a Joye eGO (should be here tomorrow according to USPS) quite a few of you have recommended I get cartozmizers! I know the one I ordered ( I belive) is a 3 piece and the cartomizer is a two piece. But what exactly does that mean to me? I am asssuming they are better which is why they are recommeded, but why. Do they sell cartomizers for the Joye EGO? Do they replace cartridges? Are they as easy to refill? How long do they last?

Thank You for all your input and knowledge!

It's all about convenience and performance. Cartomizers hold a lot of liquid and typically get it to the coil more efficiently than a cartridge does. The atomizer and cartridge system may work fine for you, but if you find that you only get a decent vape when you drip on the atomizer, then it may be time to try cartomizers. 510 and eGo cartomizers will work on your eGo.

As always, I recommend you learn on Boge standard resistance 3 ohm cartos. Then try the hotter 2 ohms ones (the most popular cartos on Ego and other big battery 510 devices). Then you are ready to try whatever more complex cartos you want.

I use thin clear juices in cartos. PG with 10-20% VG and I avoid juices that drop a lot of flavoring sediment. I fill my cartos to capacity, clean up, then lay on different sides 15-20 minutes to settle them and let the juice dampen every bit of stuffing. After that I just vape and keep them damp and I can get 10+ days use out of a Boge carto.

When properly used - cartos give a more consistent vape, hold more liquid, need juice added less often, won't suddenly dump 1/2 their contents in your mouth. They keep your flavors totally separate. No atomizers to clean because every carto has its own fresh atomizer coil. I only use atomizers to drip occasional juices and thick juices and test new juices. Never put an untried juice in a carto. Cartos are for juices you like and want to devote a cartomizer to.

Note - on simple stuffing cartos like BOge I usually use a simple plastic or delrin 510 drip tip as a mouthpiece instead of the end cap. That way it's easy to pop it out to add juice and it's a comfortable mouthpiece. Those fance acrylic swirl/ming/pawn drip tips usually won't fit cartos.

Ego mega dual coil cartomizers.....long lasting, great tasting, great vapor. Just drip til saturated, blow out middle, vape for days on one. Madvapes sells em.

Vaping Zone sells an off brand eGo Mega Dual Coil Carto that actually hits just a bit harder than the Madvapes version as well. If you like massive TH, either of these are for you. They're my everyday vape!

Also, as far as learning on a Boge, I'd have to respectfully disagree. The Boges are much harder to fill. The Madvapes version of the EMDCC comes in clear, so you can actually see the material soak. It really helps to teach you when to stop filling. They do take a LOT more juice though.

To bring it back to basics, your eGo, out of the box, is set up to work with a battery, an atomizer (heating element) and cartridge to hold the juice (it comes with multiples of each -- just keeping it simple). The cartomizer combines the atomizer and cartridge into a single piece which can hold a lot more juice. With a cartridge, I found it held about 2.5 analogs' worth of juice. A cartomizer holds more like 10 analogs' worth. Cartomizers also cost much less than traditional atomizers (both of them will burn out eventually).

You should get some cartomizers ("cartos") but don't worry too much just yet. Your first job with your eGo is to find some juices you like and cartomizers are NOT the tool for this job (imagine filling one and realizing you hate the juice -- you've wasted a carto). Use up the cartridges that come with your eGo kit, or better yet, just drip the juice directly onto the atomizer, place the empty mouthpiece on it, and vape. This is the best way to find a juice you really like. Then you should move onto cartos and fill them with your favorite juice. I would say go straight to the Low Resistance (LR) cartos. You might burn a couple out getting the hang of it all, but they are miles better than standard cartos on the eGo.

Do they sell cartomizers for the Joye EGO?

I should also have mentioned that your eGo is a "510" (refers to the size of the threads that hold the battery to the atomizer), so anything you get -- atomizers, cartomizers -- must be labeled as 510. You won't have any trouble finding 510 cartomizers.

I'm weirdly finicky about cartomizers. Boge brand bother me the least. The filler material does mute the flavor of your juice a bit but if you always use cartomizers you will probably never notice.

The 'shorty' style cartomizers take about 20 drops (about 1ml) of juice. In the long run I think you'll waste less juice and get a better taste but you'll need top off your carto more often with fresh juice. The XL and XXL giant ones take 3 to 5ml of juice. It's a bummer to refill one of those right before the funkyness hits and you waste a bunch of juice. Condensation from your mouth on your drip tip gets into the cartomizer and bacteria grows and thrives in the warm, moist environment. Your carto starts to taste weird. That's the warning that it's time to replace it.

Do they sell cartomizers for the Joye EGO? Do they replace cartridges? Are they as easy to refill? How long do they last?

When you're looking at cartomizers, you'll notice that they are identified by a number like 510 or KR808, etc. That denotes the connection type. Your Joye eGo uses 510, which is the most common. That gives you a very wide field to choose from!

Since it's an eGo, you can use the EMDCC as gramva mentioned (without any adapters or anything). Those puppies are awesome. Once you have settled on a juice you like, trying an EMDCC is one of those things you just gptta do. Make sure it's a juice you like tho, because the carto holds a LOT of it, and you can't really 'empty' them to switch juice.

So to answer, yes, any carto thats a 510 is fair game for your eGo. A cartridge goes on an atomizer. The cartridge has the liquid, the atomizer has the coil. A cartomizer combines the functions of the two in one unit/piece. So it will replace the atty and the cart.

Refilling is a breeze. When you first fill a carto, you will be popping out the little plug on the end. Actually, your best bet is to toss that anyway and put a drip tip in place of it because the carto can get a bit warm, the drip tip makes it more comfortable, especially if you chain vape a bit. Also easier to remove/replace than the stock mouthpiece plug thing. Whichever you use, refilling is a simple as popping the plug or tip off and dripping the juice into the absorbent wadding inside the carto.

How long do they last is hard to answer.

Between refills? That will vary depending on which one you go with - some have larger capacities, and there's the EMDCC previously mentioned, which will hold a bucket of juice. (OK, bucket is a SLIGHT exaggeration). Also, how long will depend on vaping style. You may find that a standard Boge lasts you all day, while someone else who vapes heavier might only get half a day out of it. Sort of like saying, "How long will a can of Coke last?" Answer is different for everyone.

How long will it last in terms of lifespan? That is hard to nail down as well. I have some that I have used a lot and got about a month out of them, whereas others have only survived a week or so. Sometimes it's the carto that decides lifespan, sometimes its a particular juice that's rough on them, and sometimes it's the user and their style that will decide.

As for catro's tho, you can get 15 Boge carto's for twenty bucks. As you can tell from that price, they are meant to be disposeable - but they're certainly not single-use.

(( and I bet you thought those were simple, straightforward questions with black & white answers... LOL ))

What size tube is the atomizer of your Ego? The thin atomizer tube (about 9.2mm diameter) uses a 510 drip tip. The fatter tube uses an Ego drip tip. A drip tip is a good way to test juices.

Cartridges - the cartridges for the slim atomizer tube can be restuffed with the precut blue foam stuffing from strictlyejuice.com (search there for foam). You will probably never need any more cartridges since the ones you have can be used, cleaned, restuffed and used more - that blue foam rinses out easily. Cartridges are OK for learning to vape, for juices that don't quite earn a carto, etc.

Cartomizers are the way most people prefer to do most of their everyday vaping.

Re cartomizer and atomizer ohms - lower ohm single coils are hotter and use battery charge up faster. Dual coils use battery charge up faster but are more vapor rather than hotter (usually 2 standard resistance coils).

as others have said cartos are great, they are very convenient, i personally enjoy vaping out of them more then attys. the only time i use an atty is when i want to vape something that i know im not going to vape for a long period of time. i use my cartos for the stuff i vape regularly day after day.

ill just throw this out there, ive tried the boge LR cartos and wasnt very pleased, ive had a much better experience with smoktek Rejuvenator 1.7ohm cartos (also known as the ccv resurrector). for me the boges wouldnt last more then 4 days and the flavor had a slightly weird taste that was always there. with the resurrectors, they last me about 2-3 weeks and the flavor is just as good if not better then an atty. they also hold 50+ drops of liquid which is great.
