Hi all,

Just placed my first order with GV last week; fast shipping and now I have my PBCs. They are a quality item but I confess that I have problems with 2 things: I want to be able to take a HUGE airy big boy hit not a controlled tight draw and the hypo. I hate the hypo--it sucks. I hate refilling and hassling with air and drops. But, this is not a flame--it's a great product and that's part of the no leaking part. I've used them for days and they are swell it's just the hypo is annoying me. So I'd be happy to stick with them for their overall quality.

BUT I was thinking of trying out a new vivi mini. I thought all you peeps who use a vivi 2.5 may be able to help with some questions as they should be similar with the minis...

1) I vape a ton-- 4-5 hours/day... How often will I have to replace my heads (1300mah X2s, JC juice--soon will be 80PG/20 DIY single flavor blend). I really don't want to buy an item and spend 4$ every two days on heads... Will I be cleaning them 24/7 as well on this hard vaping?

2) How long do these last? Saw some QC posts about breaking but the OP didn't post if it was a ViVi 1, 2 or 2.5.

3) Can I take my huge, giant massive hit if I want :)?

4) Will it leak through the 501 adaptor on my 808ds?

So I can get a hypo juice bottle and be content with my PBCs as they are a great product, was just wondering if the Vivi mini may be better for me... Any suggestions will be appreciated. TY!

The following is all about the Vivi Nova questions...

1. I vape all the time I'm awake... so 4-5hrs doesn't seem like a ton to me... lol. I vape between 4-6ml a day more or less

1a. The heads are cleanable... rinse them off, toss into some PGA for a while, take them out to dry and dry burn if needed... I've been vaping with the same 6 heads that I rotate for a month and they still work just fine.

1b. PG/VG ratio is only one part of how quickly your heads will get gunked up and need cleaned... each juice will be slightly different. So it may only be a day before you need to clean, it may be a week ( or whatever )... it will depend on the juice itself and how much you put through it a day.

2. Several have posted they've dropped theirs and it didn't break... you can't go by just one incident and even then it will depend on what type of force, where it hits and the angle of the hit... etc. These are tough but as with anything they shouldn't be abused either... they also have metal tubes available if you want a bit more reliablity in that area.

3. You should be able to take as big of a hit as you wish... just make sure to keep it tilted so the wicks stay in the juice so they don't go dry...

4. I've seen reports of leaks through the threading... I haven't had it myself.

The VN can be filled directly from the juice bottle and doesn't require a hypo... but do it however you wish.

Rdsok has pretty much covered it, but I'll add just a couple of notes:

I've never had a ViVi leak through the threads, and I have six of them: 4 v1, 1 v2, and 1 v2.5. The juice does get into the threads, but the gasket stops it from getting out. I would imagine that if the gasket is damaged in some way, either comes bad to begin with, or with regular over-tightening, it might allow some juice through, but that would happen as a very, very slow seep originally, so it shouldn't damage your batt, you'll see it well before then.

However. You can make it leak out the bottom connector by seriously flooding it. It's not easy to do - I mean you have to glug the juice into the wick openings before the wicks fluff out with use, but it can be done. I've done it. :D Most often though, you'll know the thing has flooded on you well before it starts dripping - it will gurgle like it has bad bronchitis, and won't produce any vapor to speak of. It actually takes a lot longer to start dripping from flood than any other carto I've dealt with.

I dropped them on my wooded floor a whole bunch of times with no damage at all. My dog tried to eat one (thank god it was empty), and did put a crack in it - but, then, I don't think it's rated for the iron jaws of a determined German Shepherd. :D A v1 tube got all crazed in a cute branch-like pattern from an apple-flavored juice sitting in it for about a month (I forgot about it). The tubes on the latest version are not supposed to be susceptible to that, but you can try the metal ones if you are worried.

So, basically, like Rdsok said: don't misuse it, and it won't misuse you. :D

These things hit great, if you use them right. Lots of vapor, good flavor, and if you tilt (and I mean TILT, not just once in a while, but hold your PV at a tilt while you vape), you don't get any dry hits. So you can take as big a drag as you want.

Oh, with a pretty dark, 70/30 juice, I have to clean the head about once every two tanks or so. I say "have to", which doesn't mean I actually do it. I am lazy. :D

Oh, one other thing: you can also make it leak out the battery connector if you don't screw the head in all the way - obviously. So make sure it's in there good and tight, though not too-too tight. It sounds like rigmarole, but you'll feel it when you get in there.

Thank you....that is my little keelala....well, not so little really. Believe it or not, she is a Boxer/Golden Retriever mix.....we had an oopsie with our momma Boxer and my giganto Golden before they were to be fixed.....and every single one turned out black/chocolate. In the sunlight you can really see the chocolate color.

I do love Labs though....I had a lab rottie mix years ago...one of the best dogs I've ever had!

I thought 510 drip tips would fit the vivi, waiting for them to be in stock to order my first one, but I really wanted to be able to use my pretty tips. no pretty ones for the stardust=[

You should be able to use most of them... I use my plastic and SS ones all the time, no prob. I think the ceramic once as just a tad different - at least my white one is.

I'm not sure if you will like the vivi in that case. My son takes those those kinds of hits too, and he didn't like mine. Here's what I posted on the vivi thread:

"I love the vivi - it is almost the perfect tank for me. But my son, who borrowed my unit, dislikes it. Said the draw was too tight, flavor not there, etc. Meanwhile, I find his set up (much more expensive than mine!) lacking - too loose and airy, little taste.

It actually makes sense if you watch how we vape - we do it totally differently, I think 'cos his lungs are much younger and less damaged than mine.:) "

(I didn't post pcb)

Edit: was using cartos all morning... just slapped on a PBC and realized how crappy cartos taste by comparison. All plasticy on the lips... lol... I'm PBC spoiled!

I suppose you didn't after all... but you did make up your own acronym without defining what it stood for
