i just ordered a joye 510 a few days ago, and im debating on buying a PCC for it, im a somewhat light smoker, a pack lasts 2-3 days sometimes less, and ive heard the joye 510 batt doesnt last too long. and its also a manual which i dont want to burn up by accidentally pressing the button when its in my pocket.

ive also been browsing the forums and have heard the PCC's are a bit quirky as far as the charging led's and whatnot, so its up to you guys to give me an idea as to if i should get one and where to get a decent one....

im looking to spend around 20 on the PCC many places carry them for 25 but thats a tad steep,
let me know where you got yours and for how much

I would highly recommend a PCC. Whenever I leave the house, I bring it along, with one battery charging in it, a couple carts, and a spare atty. I have the joye 510 myself, although I use manual batteries. I smoked around a pack a day, so I did smoke more than you...but with the fairly short charges the 510 batts seem to get, I would still say get one for yourself.

To charge the PCC, you plug it into a usb socket, I think most any one will do. It comes with a usb cord that connects to the bottom of the PCC. In my case, I just plug it into one of my spare PC usb ports, does the trick just fine.

I never leave home without my PCC. I just love the way it charges my batts on the go. I paid 18 for it, if I'm not mistaken.

I live and die by my pcc, I couldn't vape without it. Well at least not with a 510 and the stock batteries, lol. I don't have a usb passthrough so I'm on battery power all the time. My pcc goes everywhere I go and when one battery starts blinking and not working well, I swap it into the pcc and take the other out. The charging battery is always ready for me when the one I'm using is dead. I charge the PCC overnight and that's it..no fuss no muss. DO remember to charge it every night!! I forgot once and it was a pain in the .... to keep my batteries charged the next day.

My pcc came as part of my kit so I can't speak to cost...but I've seen them for $20-$25 I think. Anywhere in that range is good value if you ask me.

They come with a usb cable that you can plug into a usb port on your computer for charging. You can also buy a usb to ac adapter so you can charge it in a wall socket or even a usb to dc car cigarette lighter adapter.

Mine hasn't been quirky in the least really. There are 3 leds (2 red and one green). The top red one means the battery is charging (it goes off when it's charged). The middle red one means the PCC needs to be charged (i think, pretty sure) and the bottom green one means the PCC is plugged into power and is fully charged.

I like having the PCC so I don't have to be hooked to anything to charge during the day.

Charging the PCC -
- when the middle red LED comes on
- after every 4 510's charged in it (even if the middle LED is not on)
- or every night, if it's easier to become a creature of habit.
(The PCC battery is also a LI-ion - so no worry about 'memory')

Also, it's a good place to carry the extra carts and atty.

Only downside - no place to carry the e-cig you're currently vaping...

Clarify the LED usage from a post above...

Top (red LED only) - on when the 501 battery is inside and charging. It starts to flash as the battery charges - red stays on a long time with a quick flash when the battery is still low. As the battery charges, the 'red on' becomes shorter and the 'LED off' becomes longer. When fully charged the LED remains off. Need to watch that the LED is actually off to know it is fully charged.

Middle (red LED only) - comes on when PCC itself needs charging.

Bottom (red/green LED) - comes on red when the PCC battery is being charged while plugged into a USB power source. Turns to green when the PCC battery is fully charged.

Lights can be on in various combinations:
(bottom LED is only on when plugged into a USB power source)

Top red / middle red : indicates the 501 battery is still charging, but the PCC battery is getting low. (not common)

Top red / middle red / bottom red - indicates the 501 battery is still charging; the PCC battery is still low, but being charged. (not common)

Top red / bottom red - indicates the 501 battery is still charging; the PCC battery is also charging.

Top red / bottom green - indicates the 501 battery is still charging; the PCC battery is fully charged

Hope this helps
