ok so I wraped a new coil with the cotton boiled it this time made sure the wick was yet and still getting a burning taste what could this be?

I got the same burt taste on my first coil and wick. After i let the juice soak up to the coil for a minute or so i didn't get the burnt taste. You can alway drip a drop of juice onto a fresh coil from the top as you reassemble the atty to speed up the wicking process. This help me since i tend to be impatient.

With any yarn like that, it's a good idea to boil it first to remove any sizing that may be on it. I've used the P&C with no problems. Wrap the coil and diagnose any hot spots before you thread the wick in, obviously, since you can't dry burn it.

I didn't know that. I will boil some tonight and build a new coil. Didn't know the yarn had anything on it that would need to be boiled off. Thanks for the info.

I'm not certain this particular brand does, but it's common with yarn so I prefer to be safe.

My first recoil was my protank. You might want to try the Kangertech EVOD. It uses the same heads as the protank. Its a little smaller 1.6 ml but it isn't glass and wont break as easily. The flavor is awesome. The diff between the two tanks is the way they hit. The protank has an easy draw and the EVOD is similar to other tanks like CE 4 and T2.

The coil needs to be touching the wick. That might be to problem for you. I never could get the wick to fed through the coil so i decided to buy some resistance wire for coiling and wrap my own wicks.

Check out this video from the vapor lady on recoiling protank heads. She has a good technique and she makes it look easy. http://youtu.be/35J8gBlWCFo - i don't insert the needle into the yarn. It a real pain to get it in there like she does it.

If I am not mistaken they are just the color name..just a fad thing. Like a color called wild cherries, cupcake, etc. On the other end of the spectrum some hand dyers use koolaide for dyeing

ooooooh, OK I get it - not really a flavor, just a name/color

haha I wondered 'why' thanx

I'm sitting here thinking...

what is the purpose of flavored yarn, (not for ecig coils) but original intent ?

(scented or flavored also)

Some yarn is scented. I have seen lavender scented yarn which I hear is fun to knit/crochet with simply because it smells pretty. Probably some marketing genius came up with the idea to appeal to yarn buyers. As if those of us who regularly buy yarn need more reasons to buy yarn...

As far as I know, though, scented yarn probably has no practical uses beyond the scope of the same yarn, unscented.

I am a yarn junkie and your conversation here reminded me of this orgqnic dye-free yarn from one of my favorite yarn companies.

Simply Cotton Organic Worsted Yarn - 100% organic cotton Worsted/Hvy Worsted Knitting Yarn, Crochet Yarn and Roving
I used to get the orqanic cone yarn by the case at $3 lb. It went like crazy. All I have left now is an 4 oz cone of either 10/2 or 8/2 in the natural which of coarse I kept for myself..so I have that for some wick. In fact I have a T3 to recoil, so I may have to try it. I could use 5 or 6 strands..I suppose I could tube knit with 3 strands..so it would be similiar to braided ekowool or I could braid it.

I just put in a call to my yarn supplier who sells cone cotton. I left a message for him to see if he has any in stock.... . I know I can get it from another source but they are more expensive. Do you think there is enough interest for cone? One source does have skeins avail I am certain but in the skein the cost per yd is much much higher. Is the bleached white preferred over the natural? Call me crazy but the bleached white is exactly that bleached and they do use chemicals to bleach it.

I picked up some white peaches and cream yarn the other day. I did boil it. Now I see I should have grabbed the ecru version. Should I pitch the white and grab some of the ecru or would the white be okay after being boiled?

This is why they make flavored yarn...:)
