PEG a new ingredient, instead of PG and VG

Tried PEG/PG/VG in different combos. PEG isn't much different from PG in viscosity.
However, I seem to get a funny taste with PEG, hard to describe but maybe mildly oily and chemical. Perhaps a bit like cod-liver oil (old fashioned - Grandma's standby).

Just a thought.
Definately.. I still can't pin down the taste exactly though..
