um... I don't know about California... but mall cops typically don't have much more education of the laws than you or I. Ask a sworn law enforcement officer or call your local precinct for clarification.

Hard to say, I live in California and let me tell you - I wouldn't be surprised it it became legal to stone smokers to death in a few years! The smoking laws are brutal here, and the dirty looks you get from people when you light up, even if you are outside and step away from people so as not to bother anyone with your smoke is ridiculous.

However, I doubt seriously that they have any laws on the book regarding e-cigs at this time, in fact Arnie the Gov recently vetoed a law against e-cigs so more then likely the mall cop was just throwing his weight around, or perhaps the bar owner called the mall cops in because narrow minded people were complaining?

I think I can answer this for you. My brother in law is a Police Lieutenant in So Cal. He said there is no such penal code anywhere in the state as of right now. But he did also say that technically any business has the right to tell you that you cannot vape while on their property. It falls under the same thing as having to wear shirts and shoes in many stores. You might just have to be a bit more stealthy when vaping in that mall. Hold in the vapor an extra few seconds so that you don't exhale any visible vapor. My brother also said to feel free to tell the mall cop that you spoke to a police officer and there is no such penal code. See what he has to say to that.

Arnie recently vetoed a law against e-cigs??? Someone proposed an e-cig law? Who and why?

I'm confused...

The legislature sent a bill in for his signatire that would have prohibited the sale of E-Cig items anywhere in the state. He only vetoed it because he said the jury was still out so they may try again.

On the East coast they used to call Virgina the communist state because of their stance on radar detectors. California maybe because of their stance on everything else.

Relish what personal freedom we still have.

What an outrage...

Cigarettes, Nicotine Patches, and Nicotine Gum can all be sold legally. I don't really see why the e-cig is being singled out...

Nothing has allowed me to cut down my analog use without wanting to jump out of my own skin as much as my e-cigs. I'm a fan...and if the law ever passes, I guess I'll be arrested A LOT! :D

FDA was trying to get the e-cig banned in CA. Creeps. Arnie vetoed it :D. We'll see what the creepos try next ...

I think you don't understand. The FDA is trying to get Ecigs banned everywhere in the us. There is a lawsuit against the FDA that was brought on by SE. We are waiting for Judge Leon to rule....should be soon. This is the only reason Arnie vetoed it, because there is a case pending. Either way the Judge rules, the FDA will have regulation. What is to be determined is whether the Ecig will be classified as a drug delivery device, or a tobacco product.

Is there a petition or something that we can sign? I'm sure that no one would want to see this awesome product banned!

That is why I have a boatload of Juice and batts and I refill a carto once or twice then toss it (with caps on) into a coffee can in case of emergency! I am not going to give this up! Plus, Steve has said that where there is a will there's a way and he will find it if worse comes to worse! God bless that man!

I heard he . . . . . terminated it!? ha ha:lol: "Hello, is this thing on?" (as he taps the microphone w/ his finger, all he hears are crickets.) Ok, so that was a poor attempt at a joke. I'll try better next time, promise.;)
