Hi guys think i've solved the penny leaking.
If you look at the photo you will see the comparison , the one on the left i got some fine wet & dry paper and lay it on an hard flat surface and went round in circular motion .
Since having the penny i've always had flooding issues , I think even with the mouth piece all the way down the liquid was seeping through the gaps in the ring.

I've had the very same issue....more of an issue lately on my Ody v2 for no other reason that I've been using it quite a bit more than the Pene. I just make sure the ring is tightened down before I refill as the ring sometimes works loose with constant use of the liquid control. Leaks through the center post no longer an issue and both tanks work as intended.....very, very well. I use mostly 70-30 pg/vg.

after you tight the ring you have to tight more the rebuildable part kee. You do this by grabing the base and the ceramic housing of penelope or Odysseus and screw one more time:)

Disappointed that I had forgotten this very important point that you had mentioned in at least one previous post....thank you.:toast:

I was just wondering, would a cracked ceramic also cause this flooding problem? I am experiencing the gurgling effect for the first time, and when I last rebuilt the coil, I noticed that the ceramic was completely cracked all around about 2mm below the channels. Since it was a clean crack with both the top and bottom of the ceramic intact, and the top section of the ceramic was held in place by the wick/NR wire running down the channels on both sides, I went ahead and used it. It seemed to be fine for the first half of the tank, and then began to gurgle and leak badly. I've tried completely closing the juice control and "vaping it out", but that only seems to be a temporary fix.

Just to complicate matters, I will add that I am using 40-thread cheesecloth as a wick based on Quigsworth's technique. I've had no issues using this wick in both of my Penelopes so far, and I've run several tanks through on the same wick with no issues.

Thanks, Imeo! I have a couple of spare ceramics (just got them from COV), and if you have a moment, I have three related questions:

1. I torch my ceramics to rid them of any "soapy" taste. I do this in a blue flame until the ceramic glows red, inside and out, for about 10 seconds. Is this correct procedure? Does torching the ceramic make it more brittle or breakable?

2. I read somewhere to be sure the nut inside the ceramic was well tightened down (to prevent leaking), but is it possible to tighten this nut too much? (Could that be why the ceramic cracked?)

Thanks for your help, Imeo! :)
