I've had all three Penelope's in the past year and sold my V3 in favour of the other two, I just prefer the vape they give that bit more. But since the moment I sold it I've wished I'd stuck with it a little bit longer to see if I could make it work for me.
Before the Penelope's I had a Euforia which gave me an almost metalic feeling/taste when I vaped it. When I switched to a Penelope that metalic tang wasn't there and the V2's been the same, love them. With the V3 though that metalic tasting vape was back and was the reason I sold it. I have the short conversion for the V2 as well and it's the same, metalic sort of taste thats just not right. All I can think of is that the inside of the mouth pieces of the V3 and the V2 short arn't as polished as the V1 and V2.. I've cleaned them with everything I can think of.. Anybody any thoughts..

could the coil if you don't dry burn or wipe clean before the build. i had this happened before.
also, if you are doing cotton wick, before sure to wash your hand before rolling it. i made the mistake of going from coil build straight to rolling cotton. while build the coil, your finger pick up all sort of oil and when you roll your cotton, all that goes right back into it.
i have a pack of baby wipe on the build station and wipe my hand frequently during a build.

I love my Penny V2 and V3 equally. They are my most used atty's (as in almost 24/7).

For me the V2 has been by far the most tricky and most difficult atty to setup that I've ever owned and/or tried. This is my Silica only atty. I took me a long long time and many many builds to get solid and predictable wicking with various liquids at different power settings. But she finally 'surrendured' and now I have a view variations on the same build that give good, predictable and reliable results.
She's my 'Queen B1tch' but I must admit, I love her the most. :)

The V3 has been a breeze from the first build. I use it with micro coils & cotton only and it has been flawless. Always. Regardless the liquid and power setting. Vapor and flavor are truly excellent. Make no mistake, I love the V3 to bits. But maybe because it's so flawless and so easy compared to the .....y, much more complicated V2 that it still makes me grab the V2 about 7 out of 10 times.
Call me grazy but I feel the V2 with it's classic NR-R-NR wire and ceramic cup design is just a bit more special to me. A bit - dare I say it? - more Golden Greek for me.

I agree with you Fog my Penelope's are the only atomisers I use. I've tried a few others, Kayuns etc but they're just not for me. I've got my builds pretty much under control and as you say Zero I'm very fussy about my coiling routine. At first I put the metalic taste of the V3 down to there being no ceramic and as Imeo suggested to me I gave it a thorough cleaning with everything I could think of including white gas etc but the V2short mode is the same. If I set up the V2 as normal it vapes great, then I drain the juice out and fit the short tank and mouth piece, fill it up again and the metalic taste is there again. It has to be something to do with the inside of the mouth pieces, it can't be anything else..

its the wick he used on his video some posts before guys. He is very satisfied with it and I asked him to send me some of it because the site that sells it, ships only to UK.

It seems that this wick goes very nice via a coil and also its flat so it takes all the space of the side cuts where the liquid comes to Ithaka - Penelope.
