Penny mod scratches

I try my hardest to keep my mods clean and safe. Especially my expensive ones. I just got my penny mod and I love it. Problem is, which is a real bummer, I have some deep looking scuffs/scratches near the bottom.

Could I use very fine sand paper to remove these? Or what could I do! I love a beautiful flawless mod and scuffs and imperfections, especially accidental ones kill me lol.

I appreciate your help

Did a little searching and you might be able to fix those without sanding.

How to Remove Metal Scratches | eHow suggests using a copper cleaning solution which may "fill-in" the scratches if they are small enough. Otherwise it says you would need to sand the spots progressively and buff with a copper polish and scratch remover. http://www.nowet.com/metalpolish.htm was the first one I could find that looks promising. GL though.

If you sand it, like what was said above, sand in one direction, preferably vertically. Use 500grit or higher. Just know you're going to result with a brushed copper look. I actually love that look, maybe even more than satin/ polish but to each his own. And if you do sand it you're going to want to sand the whole thing or it will look awkward. You might want to try polishing your mod first and see if that buffs out any of the scratches if they're not too deep.
