As for vaping in public and the reaction I've found the people most interested are those that have a loved one or friend that's a smoker. In fact many have asked for my email in case the person ever wishes to know more about vaping.
Friends- when I see them I tell them about it and the open minded ones are impressed while the close minded are kinda watching and waiting for me to "fall off the wagon"....ain't gonna happen :)

You can also go the the ECF Store on the main page. You can get 50 ECF cards to pass out to friends, family and others that are interested in what the e-cig is. It's got a lot of information on the front and back of the card as well as the ECF web address. They are FREE. You just pay postage. ECF Store

Edit: It also has a place for you to add your email address or screen name.

haha, love this thread! I can so relate.
My family was great the first year... and that's a long long time to be great if you ask me! But this 2nd year they're glazed over really bad. They've gotten as overwhelmed with all the new gadgets as I have. Every once in awhile one of them will spark up at something but it last only a moment.

The smokers who've shown the most interest only want 1 tidbit of info. So I give them the JOYE eGo PT tidbit and ECF. But even then my tidbits can get l o n g. How do I do dat?? I hate when dat happens.... I get so excited about finally getting to talk shop that I can't stop. oy!

The most interested are the kids of parents who smoke. They are so excited over this, knowing it will work for them too, because it makes so much sense to them. (as it should). The parents, on the other hand, turn a deaf ear because they're being "singled out" by their kid again. Kids. Always full of anti-smoking agendas from their schools and tv's. I share with the kids to expect the shrug though, and to not fear the shrug, because they are indeed spreading the seed to eventual smokefree victory.

and I come here and ramble non-stop. I love you guys.

Yep i'm the same boat too, hubby does not smoke, well not since he was in the Marine Corps about a zillion years ago, but has been on me about quiting for years, now that I have he says I am obsessed with e cigs and juice LOL Well he is right, I am! ha ha We does ask what I am vaping from time to time or I have him smell this flavor or that. So he is happy with me not smoking but he gets a bit tired of e cig chat from me. He has stopped asking what are in all those packages in the mail box! ha ha Thanks goodness for ECF for us lone vapors :) bnrk

I started Vaping in August with a loaner from my brother, got hooked almost overnight.
Within a month was completely off cigarettes. The wife doesn't even want to hear about it but is quietly glad i'm not smoking anymore. I talk with my brother a few times a week about it. Guys around the firehouse looked at me funny for a while, asked a few questions and now pay no attention to it.
I don't go around telling stories or preaching but conversation occurrs naturaly every now and then.
One of the guys on another shift has even started to give it a try after we talked about them.

Tacoma Wa,
My wife HATES when i talk about it at all. :(
She quit cold turkey about a year ago while she was sick.
And she always glares at me when i am vaping, I have asked her why, and she said she doesn't know, It just makes her mad for some reason.
I think she's jealous because she REALLY liked to smoke and she can see how much i enjoy vaping and being she doesn't smoke it makes her mad?

Oneweek, I am in the same boat as you (exception being my husband still smokes on occasion) I have always been a chain smoker when I could and would sneak away as slyly as possible every time I could fit in "just half a cig". Vaping is perfect for me and my sneak a drag ways but my husband get so upset when he sees me go for it. I should just be like him and not be addicted to anything (coffee included...yes he is crazy!)

My wife is happy that I'm not smoking--beyond that she shows "I'm happy that you're happy" attitude.

I was surprised by my smoking co-workers. They all showed curiosity and wanted to try it(I keep alcohol wipes). Everyone loved the flavor. Then when they ask about cost.... interest dwindles.

Yes, you have to pay about $60-$80 up front. Then wait for it to show up. Then plan ahead so you don't run out of juice.

They'd rather pay $10 per day(yes most of the brain dead kids buy analogs by the pack) and get poisoned.

Perhaps it's a perception thing. Perhaps they don't see it as a "manly" thing to do. I've given up.

I was a "serious smoker" and there were ashtrays in EVERY room of my house and if you didn't smoke, you were welcome to step outside for your fresh air. I was also a respectful smoker outside of my own home however.
I never in a million years thought I would quit (and had no intention of quitting), it came by accident, but I'm thrilled about it.
I'm a foodie at heart which has trickled into having tons of different juices and flavors and wondering which voltage will bring out the best flavor of .... blah blah blah.
"Blah blah blah", that's the look behind the glazed expressions from most people that I'm in contact with, hahaha!
Even my mom, who starting vaping later the same week that I got my first ecig, gives me that blank stare on a frequent basis. Co-workers roll their eyes if I'm sporting a different colored atomizer, "oh...you got a new one...." They think that every ecig part is an entirely new unit and costs $100
Even after almost a year, I'm still excited about vaping and giving up the analogs. I try to be open if people are curious and want to ask questions while keeping my evangelical excitement toned down a touch....and do a lot of lurking at ECF :)

My co-workers think I work for an e-cig company. I will tell anybody who inquires about the health benefits and how wonderful I feel since I gave up smoking. My wife thinks their has to be an evil side to them, she figures that you have to be miserable and go through a withdrawal period of shaking and sweating in order to just drop smoking like I did. She just rolls her eyes when I exhale a big plume of vapor.

That's true for me too! Even though my family is badly glazed over now, they never miss a new to me gadget, be it a drip tip,a flavor or a mod. They're still enjoying the scented flavor and *know* when I'm on a new one. lol.

You must understand first off that I work in the criminal justice system, dealing closely with all kinds of offenders. That said, when I go out on my "smoke" break, I tell everyone I'm going to go hit on my crack pipe. A few will ask me about vaping and I tell them it's an e-cig and the only way I could quit smoking. Even fewer are actually interested and I've converted one and 2 more say they are going to need my help to order on payday. The times when I get carried away and see that glazed look, I shut my mouth... lol. Even when talking to my son on the phone I can tell when he's over it. So yes, thank goodness for ECF!

Hey,
Nobody is going to be interested unless they actually want to quit.As long as they are not truly sick to their stomach of wasting the money on garbage and not concerned about their health then they will not be interested in your vaping stories.I find that some people think vaping is stupid. Some people will think it's stupid and you are too for doing it,or weird..Some think it is potentially unsafe no matter of the amount of research you've done and no matter what knowledge you may share..
And I always get these smart comments like this: hey! is that your one hitter,Hey! are you still smoking that crack stem?

Some might say they want to quit and they want to save money..They might even complain about how the Govt. is overcharging taxes and etc..But actions speak louder than words, they would at least show enough interest to begin their own research into vaping and other alternatives if they were interested no matter how much it cost..And Your friends interest may dissolve when they see the price of vaping supplies. But If they seen the X-tra money staying in the bank perhaps that would be the stories that would peak their interest..

I have to say that vaping is an enjoyable habit for someone(unlike nicorette or the patch)even if someone doesn't quit smoking,Dipping,Chewing,e.t.c. completely..It's good to be able to at least take a break from consuming tobacco and cut down the amount of tobacco consumption for vaping.I mean C'mon,Cutting down is better than nothing. Personally I like vaping as much as I did smoking if not more..
I still have a cigarette from time to time.A half a pack on the avg these days..But that is a big improvement from 3 packs a day..Yalls friends and Family will be in my prayers to show more interest in this safer alternative.
Hava good day

Just last night i was rambling on to my never smoking never vaping husband something about a Provari and he asks me "Does it have 510 threading?" I fell in love all over again lol.
I know someone that I wish would take interest in my vaping supplies like that and they are a smoker. Perhaps he sees the potential for a Bass boat in the future.:2c:
