People around you getting tired of your vaping stories?

So I am a little over a month into this whole vaping thing, and I have found it a strange and beautiful new world. There is a completely different language, so much to learn, so much to buy! I am feeling bad because I feel the desperate need to tell my hubs everything I learn. He has been very accommodating and listens, or at least pretends to, but I am feeling bad because I dont know anybody personally who is doing this, and frankly most people don't care lol. Thank goodness I have a place i can go where there are others who are just as obsessed with this whole thing as I am!! Anybody else out there wanting to tell everybody what a wonderful thing this is, only to know that nobody is really all that interested except for you??

im glad you have supportive family! I do too and my hubs is totally supportive of this, but i have to back off telling him everything in my head when I feel like im going into uber-obsession mode lol. And Evangelical is EXACTLY it! I have never ever been the kind to want to push anything with anybody, kind of a live and let live kinda gal, I dont really care what you do and you shouldnt care what i do. But i find myself trying to get people to try it (who are smokers) and trying to tell everybody all the wonderful things about it!

It's hard to contain the excitement about finding such an easy way to stop smoking, plus all the cool and tasty options you have. I just learned how to use my multimeter today and forgot to read the paper this morning since I had to test all my dead attys and cartos! I think ECF is a two-pronged sword - it's a great place to share the good news, but it also feeds the excitement so we have even more to talk about!

My wife and I started vaping together so at least she can put up with me. I just frustrate her in my normal thousand ways.

Even if we bore our friends and family, they all like the fact that we smell better!

I managed to get my partner into the 'guess what flavour this juice is from the smell' game, but other then that she tends to smile sweetly or only vaguely pay any attention.

Start talking about low resistance whatsits, cartomizer thingy majigs or anything else and you can almost see the eyes glaze over! It's hard enough talking to 'smokers' about vaping let alone non-smoking goody two shoe types!

Seeing as most of our friends, family do smoke I find they are truly interested in our e-cigs and want to hit it and know more about it. They usually ask where they can buy one, what did it cost, and did we really quit smoking using it. People are definitely intrigued by it, well at least that my experience so far.

Lol, that's exactly why I spend so much time at ECF! Its worse for me because the 2 people I convinced to start vaping and quit death sticks it hasn't worked for and the friend who got me into vaping doesn't care about any mods or all this gadget stuff (which I am obsessed with). He's happy with his Ego-T and dekang RY4 and doesn't want to listen to me talk about or even play with any of the awesome gear I've been stockpiling. I actually offered to give him my Torpedo Tank (it was disappointing me till MWA's 306 mod) and his reply was what the heck would he do with it. :roll:

I make an effort to not repeat my 'vaping story' to the same person. I'm at the age that it's all too easy to repeat myself and I don't want to bore folks. I'm at that age that it's all... (drats!)

My bride of 42 years is pretty much clueless to my constant new 'discoveries'. So I do spend a lot of time on the ECF to share such experiences. I make an effort to not repeat my... (crap!)

Kind of in the same boat, nobody I know around here is into vaping, although one day as I pulled into a Home Depot taking a toot on my SD MK2 some guy in a vehicle next to me asked if I was smoking the "Good Stuff" I had to laugh and then proceeded to give him the quick & dirty rundown on vaping. I get the feeling though, until we have more localized shops advertising, selling gear and juice etc. alot of folks just won't get it.

When I showed my husband the fabulous self piercing saddle valve thingie for punching cartos I actually caught him in a stealth eye-roll. When we were losing weight, it was nice because we could obsess together. As a non-smoker he's not really interested in vaping at all except looking at the credit card bills and asking what was that $ for???

You can go to the the link below, "Social Group Forum" then go to the "Location Specific" thread. You should be able to find some vapers near you who meet up (or are interested in meeting up) on a regular basis. If you can't find a group near you, you could arrange a meet in your area and reach out to other vapers. The Florida Vapers Club has quite a few members from a range of areas around Tampa. The meetings are held at different parts of the area each month so that no one has to drive too far every month.

Haha thats how i feel but usually if im passionate about something my girlfriend will do her best to learn and all that. She likes to teach me about her stuff to and i love to learn about her passions as well.
I think it would be great if there were vaping lunges and ejuice/ehardware shops in every major city

Stealth eye-roll...LOL My wife is a non-smoker (still can't believe she married me, being a smoker) of course she always wanted me to quit, but never harassed me about it, although she would sometimes stealth-shame me And now that I'm vaping, she's happy that I don't smoke BUT not so happy about my so called new hobby/obsession and the money I'm spending, even though I can prove it's less than what I was paying for cigs...well at some point it will be, just not yet

I can relate!!! My boyfriend knows that when I get into something....LOOK OUT!!! lol He was a heavier smoker than I by about 1/2 PAD, so I was very concerned about his health before we quit, moreso than my own even.

He tries to listen to me go on about mods, EMDCC's, tanks, but he truly does not care...he just wants what we have to be ready to rock and roll whenever he needs it! That leaves me to do all of it....the researching, shopping, filling, charging, cleaning, tossing....you get the idea! I'm happy to do it, it's a small price to pay to keep him off of analogs.

I think I would go 'nucking futz' if I couldn't share my obessions - that SWMBO ('She Who Must Be Obeyed' aka the wife) is always rolling her eyes about - in vaping, tube radios, diesel trucks, film photography, shaving with straight-edge razors in the old tyme styleee...etc

Lucky me. Wife is very:
Attentive in regards to new gear and Ecig stuff
Supportive because she knows this is a huge improvement in my health.
Extremely grateful to the many ECF Vets here that answer all our questions and queries with honesty, intelligence and patience.
As for Vaping in public and the reaction I've found the people most interested are those that have a loved one or friend that's a smoker. In fact many have asked for my email in case the person ever wishes to know more about Vaping.
Friends- when I see them I tell them about it and the open minded ones are impressed while the close minded are kinda watching and waiting for me to "fall off the wagon"....ain't gonna happen
