Perfume - Rose?

I forgot the name of the factory where ALL cartos come from..but it's not Dekang. Leaford may chime in here.

I'm 99% sure that Steve said in another thread that the juice is from Dekang. When someone posted that they wanted to know the exact ingredients for the juice Steve told them to check Dekang's website.

I tried pink lemonade and it was all rose tasting. I told my wife I thought I was vaping women's deodorant. Had it happen with a caramel mocha frap also but it went away after a while.

I had a Red Hot from my candy sampler...and I know the "perfume" smell that everyone is talking about. Doesn't seem like roses to me, in fact it reminds me a childhood drink..

Anyone remember the days before juice boxes?...Those little plastic juice bottles that had the foil caps? The Red Hot totally reminds me of the "fruit punch" flavor.

I think when you first start vaping,everything tastes strange.Its usually newer people who get the perfumey cartos so maybe that has something to do with it.I havent had any lately but I do know Leaford has mentioned the problem.Who knows.

Well I have lots of juices and cartos and only the MountDo and redhots recently ordered had the taste. I let others try it and they also tasted it big time. My one friend double checks before testing anything I give him now, he has to make sure I am not making him taste something gross. I told him I need second opinions but he said he doesn't care it was gross, and that he has no need to taste something already deemded gross.

I know taste is subjective but the rosey soap taste is very real and very there. I had another friend tell me it tasted like perfume the second he took a drag. He was quite supprised as all I told him was "here try this one, its MountDo". He grabbed it fast as I am always vaping something tasty. Right after he hit the button he made a face and told me that there is no way that is mountain dew unless the new formula is largely perfume.

I know it happens and I in no way meant to imply that it doesnt.I just meant that vapor is very different than smoke and it does take getting used to.It tastes way different.Im sure that v4l will take care of the problem.

i noticed the same thing on the fruity flavors i recently ordered. i can't compare since these are my first cartos, but on the one i was brave enough to keep vaping, the floral smell eventually went away.

I have noticed that the floral taste seems to diminish as I vape also. I'm just not sure if it actually goes away or if I get used to it!?!?! In either case, when I can stick it out, I can eventually finish a floral carto.

I have e-mailed V4L and I'm sure that eventually we will get to the bottom of the issue.

And like I said before, it is okay if rose is part of the normal flavoring. I just want to know about it so I don't try those flavors again.

keyzygirl - I have been vaping for well over two months. Granted it isn't nearly equal to the number of years that I smoked but I beleive that my taste buds are pretty much fully functioning now. I have used products from a number of different vendors and this is the only time I have gotten the rose taste.

Everyone has different tastes - and I don't like rose. (I do like Violet however!)

Sorry, we can't directly say where our liquids are from, but if you hunt around you'll find it on the forums. Sorry to be all mysterioso...

That's all fine and dandy however why are you not permitted to let us know? As I recall Steve said to go to Dekang's website to find out what ingredients are in the juice...so doesn't that mean all V4L juices are manufactured by Dekang? I think it's only fair to answer if someone asks. Those that don't know might have concerns about what they are inhaling ETC!

Now as far as the perfume taste, there is definitely something wrong! There has been enough discussion in this section of the forum to know it is NOT subjective. Are you looking into this? Has anyone there in China let you know why there is perfume lingering in the carto's or juices. We need to know because it's not right.

I have been ordering juice from another vendor until Steve gets new stock in AND we have a definite answer as to where this perfume flavor is coming from. The juice I have been ordering is all Dekang and there has been no perfume taste in any of the flavors I have tried so far. IF that changes I will post back because I have some more coming this week I have not tried yet.

I apologize for my ranting and as you know I am a V4L fan boy and want to continue to be. V4L has made some very good improvements in hardware. I received 2 V4L XL auto's last week and they are simply awesome and I will be ordering a couple more of them this month along with the corded USB charger. But please find out why there are perfume/floral tasting juices and let us know. Personally I only experienced it one time with the Red Bull carto's I received when I first started vaping. I ordered a bottle of Red Cow that will be coming with my order this week and will post back if it or any of the other juices taste weird. Thanks!!!

I know I've seen a few comments about the red hots having a perfumy taste. My first cartridge of the red hot had a slight perfume taste, but it went away. I just started a second cart, and the perfume taste is overwhelming. I kept vaping it for a while to see it the taste would go away like the first one, since I absolutely loved it, but I can't get past it. So I took out a third one. While not as strong, the perfume taste is still there. I hope it is just this particular batch because I really loved it, without the perfume.

I did not want to revive this thread but since someone else did I will chime in. This is certainly not a complaint and I probably won't even ask for replacement carts because I am sick of trying new flavors and I think I have found the few I will stick with. Also the freebees I have received far out way the few dud/funky carts I have received in the past.

I ordered the candy sampler and all but the butterscotch (which is amazing) had the rose perfume soap thing going on. I have not been able to vap past it. If someone will advise that that is indeed possible, I may continue to try but...yuck getting there.

I am more concerned with the cause and hope we are advised at some point. Here is my question. I am planning a large order, mostly juice, partially due to this issue. I noticed that someone mentioned perfumy juice. That is the first I have heard about any issues with juice. I thought it has only been carts. Has anyone encountered this funky taste in juice? I don't mean 'it did not taste enough like what you thought it should'. I mean perfume soap type flavor. Just wondering before I place an order for a large amount of juice. I know that Steve and crew will always make it right; I just don't want to mess with it. I am tooo lazy!!!

I use the tobacco or menthol flavors, never had a cart that tasted like perfume. I tried a few of the others, such as banana, and the pies. I just prefer the above flavors.

I tried writing to V4L and got no reply regarding my last two juice orders and the fact that I can't even use the cartos due to the perfume smell and taste. And it makes me REALLY nervous wondering what might be in that juice. So I will be buying American made products and mixing my own flavors. And I am really disappointed that I have to sit here and spend so much time "researching" this forum just to find out simple facts that should be posted on their website...like battery specs etc. I love the KR808d-1 and I am sticking with it. But I will be buying from someone else in the future.

have you tried diy flavorshack (DIY FlavorShack - E-Cigarette Forum)?? dawn won the e-juice supplier of the year for 2009. i'm planning on trying out her juices. her web-store will re-open on jan 18. she's on vacation. good luck with your search.

I have over 100 pre-filled carts dating back to purchases I made last summer. Eighty percent of them taste like perfume and IMO, nothing like the flavor I was expecting. Now I buy nothing but blank carts and I fill them with juice I know and like. It cut my cost in half and really increased my enjoyment of the KR8 products.

Seems every new box of carts I have gotten has that smell when I first open them. The only one that hasn’t had it is the 555's.
Each cart has the same taste and it is starting to upset my stomach really sickly sweet

Ive used all those same flavors,I get a funny taste on every carto on the first hit and then they are fine,I wish it would happen to me so I could figure out what it is.I just havent had an issue.I love the samplers and pineapple.I dont get it.

was this the liquid or pre filled carts , the reason i ask is when they come in the mail and i open the package than open the box the carts are in the parfume smell is there and quite stromg i have been taking the carts out and letting them sit in a bowl and my wife can smell it and shes a non smoker. she asked if i have been burning insence

I haven't noticed the flavor in any of my juice bottles, only in cartos. Only in two boxes and every carto in the box had the bad flavor. This seems to point at a bad batch to me.
