i helped linda with the DK tobacco base ingredients. it's spot on and I'll be buying a big bottle too when it's available. it will mix well with anything...
play with cheesecake, plum, chocolate, maple, dk tobacco base, caramel, EM or marshmallow for a Ry4'ish sweetness...
...a drop at a time, smell and tweak. go easy on the DK tobacco base too. it tastes stronger than it smells. when she sent me the sample, i called her immediately and did a holy crap, yep that's IT

Is anybody around who can tell me (by own experiences) the differences
between or answer the questions about the following flavors from PA :
PA Koolada: like solubled crystals?
PA Menthol: any "background-flavor"?
PA Spearmint: like wrigleys? if yes, which of the wrigleys-flavors?
PA Creme de Menthe: with mint or not with mint?
PA Wintergreen: with mint or not with mint?
Background for my questions:
I neither want a Tobacco-background like Dekang-NuPort, nor a Mint-flavor,
that lots of "Menthol-Liquids" carry with them.
I'm not hunting for the taste of pyros - just that Menthol feeling:
"Could anybody please close the doors and windows? It's getting cold in here
And: I'm just planning to order some things from Linda again and to avoid
problems with the customs, I want/have to stay under 23 ;-)
So I have to decide, which of the 5 flavors do(n't) fit my taste.

Koolada produces a cold feeling without the taste (as far as I know, could have a slight taste).
Menthol is made from the chemical in all mint plants that gives it the cold feeling, and it does have some flavor (similar to the Menthol flavor in a Menthol cigarette).
Creme de Menthe is minty like a regular Mentha plant.
Wrigley's has Spearmint flavor. Spearmint is a hybrid Mentha plant.
Wintergreen is made from Methyl Salicylate and is not a true mint in any sense. Whether she adds any true mint to it or not, I don't know, but I doubt it.

Well, I already have 12 flavors and it takes some time to collect infos, how
much is needed for mixing - it's way to hot ATM here
I've mostly seen values from 10 to 20% for the "normal flavors".
Even if that's more, than I'm used from the FA-Flavors, it's understandable.But I have two PA-vanillins, that I want to use to create a special pudding-taste:
"Ethyl vanillin" (ac-1240-sz1) and "Vanillin 10% (PG)" (mt-107_sz1).

Not sure if this will help, but the PA Creme de Menthe tastes like the liqueur of the same name. As far as PA Menthol, I haven't had it but I am pretty sure that NONE of their flavors contain a Tobacco background taste unless it says Tobacco somewhere in the name.
As far as mixing strengths for flavors, I think this is very subjective (I use 20% PA flavoring or more). Also, I've heard that the Peppermint is great - it's on my to-buy list!
Pepermint is awesome, get some sweetner made up and add it, then you will really have an awesome candycane flavor that ROCKS

The FA Butterscotch has some good flavor but needs to be used at 15-20% alone.
15-20% for a FA-flavor?
I use all the others at max 5%.
But I have too much of BS, so I'll give it a try to find out, what it's like, as it's
now only used as "sweetener" and for some other flavors as "taste-enhancer".

Hmmm, I mix most of mine at 5% - 10%, although a few of them wanted to be mixed higher.
Wow, you're delving even more deeply into DIY mixing than I have! So far I've just gotten actual flavors rather than the ingredients with which to make them. My hat is off to you!
If I understand "% of total concentrate" correctly, it tells me that whatever flavor mixture you're creating, the amount of that ingredient in the flavor mixture can be no more than whatever percent it says. And ppm means parts per million, I think. I could be wrong, though, and since it could be important for a number of reasons, you might want to write to Linda and ask her. She's very nice.
