When eating a low carb diet for health or weight loss being in a state of ketosis is a good thing. Only I am learning that PG is used to treat cows with ketosis to get them out of it. (Not good for cows)

So I am thinking that PG might not be going hand in hand with my diet plans and this explains a few things. One of the other things I have read is that PG can cause depression. Maybe not good for those of us prone to it?

On another note, eating low carb keeps my moods stable!

Thoughts?

Who sells the VG?

LittleOralFix, what do you mean by "explains a few things"?

I do a low-carb diet too but I haven't tested in a while.
But i've been vaping since august.

Well, if you haven't noticed any difference in how you look physically, I guess you should still be okay if you've been vaping since august and you haven't noticed anything.

Vaping will increase your blood sugar as has been mentioned in other posts by people with diabetes. The VG or PG is metabolized into simple sugars by your liver. This is pretty much the same process for alcohol. Notice that a bottle of vodka has no carbs or fat, yet it has calories. This is because the vodka is metabolized into acetate and later converted into glucose. More or less the same thing is happening with the glycol we vaporize.

Im not a doc but i cant think of another reason as to why our blood sugar goes up when we vape.

It will increase your blood sugar, so you could staple a calorie amount to it similar to that of alcohol use.

I would have to guess that no, alone it will not make you fat, but coupled with a high calorie diet it very well could. The food that you eat will potentially be stored because of the readily usable sugar in your blood provided from the pg. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND the pg is converted into simple sugars that will not be stored as fat, but they could cause the rest of the things you eat to be stored rather than used for energy.

This is just my assumption, i have no proof, im not a doctor.

I am a low carber and recently noticed that the diet seemed to be failing me so jacked it all in!

I put it down to vaping as it was the only thing that changed in my life.

So now i run, cycle, swim and continue to vape but the weight is harder to shift yet i am 10X healthier :)

Raising your blood sugar is not good and leaves you prone to eating more which could in turn make you gain weight so counteract the vaping with excercise

About ketostix/ketosis - not necessarily that reliable as far as weight loss, etc goes. Some ppl never turn the stix at all, yet still lose weight. They measure the ketones you are expelling in your urine, that's all. If your body is using them, or becoming more efficient in using them as an energy source as opposed to glucose, then you'll see a drop in the amount expelled/lighter or no change in colour on the stix.

Also, some ppl do find they need to drop carbs pretty drastically in order to lose weight, especially as they reach a lower weight (myself included here). YMMV.

Exylis - low carb means high(er) fat, not high protein. Egg whites? Tuna? Sorry - I've been at this for years, mod at a LC forum, etc so tend to jump on LC conversations! Feel free to tell me to mind my own beeswax.
