One of my favorite store MFS just had a 20 percent off sale on DIY supplies and I did pick up another liter of nic but also went ahead and got the 2 liter of both VG and PG. I usually only get a liter at a time but decided to just get the 2 liter this time because it is cheaper.

I keep mine in a cupboard in my closet and I pour it into a couple of 500 ml glass jars that I have. I only have 2 though. Would the rest of it be ok in the original container in my closet?

    No you can't
Came across this though I myself have used open bottles of PG & VG 1 1/2 years after opening them with no problem stored in fridge.
PG is also a much better solvent for this purpose – it has an extremely low viscosity, will dissipate dispersed oxygen bubbles quickly (say that 4 times fast!), and has a longer shelf-life chemically (2 years from DOM, vs. VG – 1 year).

The life of unflavored nicotine liquid is limited by the life of the PG and/or VG that it is mixed with. According to Dow Chemical, PG USP/EP has a shelf life of two years when stored below 40°C (104°F) in closed containers away from sources of ultraviolet (UV) light.Apr 23, 2012

I have PG and VG that are over 2 years old stored in the refrigerator that are still as fresh as the day I bought them. They will also store very well in a freezer if you have the room. I store my PG and VG right in the plastic jugs they came in and find no issues when stored in the refrigerator.

I would highly recommend you store your NIC in the freezer. In a cupboard it will ozidize and get harsh within a year. In the freezer it will last well over 10 years. Be sure to rebottle NIC in glass.
