That was a great video... i just had to explain to everyone in my office why i just randomly broke out laughing and disturbed the otherwise peaceful office atmospehere we have going on today...

if VG is vegetable.. does that mean PG is the one that is made from animals? and if so, does it contain any trace amount of animal fat? like some things are only soluable in fats... could a person use PG as a base for things that are only fat soluable?

thanks for every ones input! i just started vaping and ran into the whole antifreeze drama and had to sort it out myself, so compared all the chems in the e-juice to cigs, and of course cigs are worse =P
I believe that people that look into it in all of the available detail would come to the conclusion that cigarettes are at the very minimum 1500 times worse that electronic cigarettes.

That number is not just pulled out of a hat, either.
It has to do with the amount of carcinogens found in both nicotine delivery methods.
And that isn't even counting the carcinogens that cigarettes have and nicotine juice does not have.

Of course, I am also discounting any effects of PG and/or VG because they are both generally considered not to be any issue whatsoever. In fact, further investigation might lead one to consider that inhaling some PG and/or VG might be good for fighting bad microbes, viruses, and bacterial infections.

I am actually a believer of this.
I have not had a cold or any allergy symptoms since I began vaping..

Me either. I used to catch cold at least twice every winter, with the random summer cold, and a bout of the flu thrown in for good measure. I haven't had so much as a sniffle since I started vaping in September of '09.

The only thing to fear from PG is if you are actually allergic to it. I came across this site with tips on how to cope if you are allergic.

The Medical page is particularly interesting:
Things to avoid in the medical world

1. A very large percentage of anesthetics, pain relievers, etc have PG as a component, certain types of drugs for Kidney problems also have a large percentage of PG. Some of the gasses do too. Recommend using a local called "Carbocaine" for dental work. It's the ONLY local that does not contain Propylene Glycol.

2. Here is a link to a study where they found a 57% mortality rate when ICU patients were administered a drug called Lorazepam which is used to treat anxiety (Lorazepam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).
An Observational Pilot Study of Osmolar Gap Monitoring to Detect Propylene Glycol Toxicity in Adult ICU Patients Receiving High-Dose Lorazepam -- Yahwak et al. 124 (4): 178 -- Chest Meeting Abstracts

3. All "gel tabs" have PG as a component of the gel.... so things like vitamin E in gel tab form will give you PG

4. Stay away from anything that says mineral oil

5. Coatings on pills like Advil and others contains polyethylene glycol

But, of course, it's only the PG in e-cigarettes that is bad for you. If you ingest it any other way, you're fine.

Not to discount this theory, but I'd be willing to bet some of this effect is due to not smoking anymore.

Hey! capsizing islands due to overpopulation is a REAL problem people!
Yeah. I live on Manhattan and this island basically acts like a bop bag. Too many people on the East Side and it tips over then we all run to the West Side so it can right itself and then tip in that direction.

Since Australia is basically just a big island, does that mean they have a chance of tipping over the entire continent if everyone were to say, go to Sydney to protest cow tipping?
stalnakerz, I don't think Australia has to worry. They've got fewer than 7.5 people per square mile. We've got about 71,000 (probably higher when all the commuters come in for their jobs.)
