It never hurts to change the things you are doing if you feel that something is causing an allergic reaction. I vape 100% PG juice most of the time in an 18mg to 24mg nic level. Sometimes, I feel that the vapor is irritating my throat and lungs, so I change to a mix with less PG and it goes away. Other times, I get that same feeling while using the one that cured me the last time. I go back to 100% PG and it gets better! Go figure. Drinking more water always seems to help.

It's hard to tell what causes respiratory distress. The MSDS for PG will scare you to death, as will the one for aspirin. Anything we ingest or inhale can affect our internal balance in some way.

Last time I went for an eye examination for glasses, the doctor said my eyes were on the dry side (always have had that issue). He gave me some samples of Systane, which is a lubricating eyedrop. I looked up the ingredients on their web site. .4% polyethylene glycol, .3% propylene glycol! The ingredients listed both of those as "lubricant". I'm thinking the rest must be sterile water. I'm putting the stuff I vape in my eyes, although in a weak solution!

PG is in just about every thing we touch, from foods to drinks to medicines we take. It has a pretty clean bill of health for passing through our bodies unchanged. It's used as a carrier in intravenous injections and is considered safe. It's also vaporized and used to carry medications to the lungs. If you visit someone in a hospital and watch them get a "breathing treatment", the vapor is essentially the same thing we get from our ecigs, but with a medicine instead of nicotine.

Still, the more water we drink the better our bodies work, up to a point. Unless someone has a cardiovascular reason for limiting water intake, water is a good thing. It also gets dinged for having lots of things that can be bad for you at times. Some medicines that get flushed end up in our water supply intact after purification.

It never hurts to see a doctor if you are experiencing side effects. At least you find out what's causing it and hopefully walk out feeling better about the visit. Having a doctor tell you it's nothing serious is a good feeling. It makes you feel about 10 pounds lighter when the news is good!

Can we ever get away from harmful stuff in today's world? :)
