I think I may have gotten a little ahead of myself in the excitement of DIY liquids.

I did two extractions in 100% PG solution. One Hibiscus and one Lavender.

I got into the Hibiscus last night and wasn't thrilled with the result. It's a little bitter and there isn't much of the hibiscus flavor I was expecting. I'm going to dilute it with some VG and add a bit of sweetener when my sweetener comes in the post. If i can get a good Jamaica flavor I will be in heaven.

I haven't sampled the Lavender yet but it smells amazing. Really looking forward to trying that.

I think I have a decent grasp of this process now so I can avoid some of my initial mistakes (not having bottles on hand, spilling fluid, ect.)

Next I'm going to try Goji berries and sleepy time tea for a nice evening vape. (separate batches)

I've done mainly tobaccos, but I did one batch of TensionTamer tea from Celestial Seasonings. It turned out real nice, I emptied one bag into a vial and covered with PG. left it overnight and filtered it the next day. I think I used 10% in the juice I made and 2 drops of lemon juice in the 10ml batch. Couldn't taste the lemon it was just to get some acid in it.

I soaked both for 24 hours. I've heard of herbs rotting if left to soak for too long and the color came in very rich in the hibiscus. I don't think it's a bad batch. It probably just needs to be diluted. Not sure how much to dilute it to. 10% is probably a good starting point.

Tension tamer sounds nice too. I probably won't add any nic to any evening blend.

I've done alot of tea extractions and here is what works best for me:

1 tbsp vg
1 tbsp pg
1 tbsp of chosen tea
1 tsp of water

I mix this in a jar and let it sit for a week, shaking it once a day...or when I remember. The water really seems to bring out the flavor, and by not heating it, I avoid the bitterness that I was getting previously.

Then strain it out and start mixing at 10%. I'm vaping some oolong chai mate samurai...or something like that...from Teavana with a drop of stevia. Love it!
