I have about 500ml of PG and about 300ml of VG, and I'm going to purchase some super high nic liquid to cut my entire base to about 18-20mg. I can use one of the spreadsheet calculators out there to figure out how much nic juice I need to buy, but first I need to know what a good ratio is for base juice.

I've never made any of my own juices yet, but I dripped straight VG onto my atty and was amazed at the super dense and sweet vapor it produced. I was sold on using solely diluted VG for my base until I took a few more puffs and noticed my throat feeling coated. I've also read that VG tends to mute flavors.

So what's the golden liquid ratio?

Edit: Oops, wrong forum. Could someone move this to DIY e-liquid?

You're really intent on starting an argument here, aren't you? :D

I recommend mixing up some small volumes of test liquids, just PG and VG to see how each vapes, feels, and tastes exclusive of any other ingredient. Maybe start with PG, and increase the VG in 20% increments.

Alternately, you can listen to us argue to no end about the best ratio!

As was said before, you will get varying answers on the right PG to VG mixture depending on who you ask. Personally, I use 25% PG (usually just my nic liquid that's PG based), %45 VG, %5 Vodka, %20 flavoring (give or take a few depending on the flavoring) for my basic recipe but it really depends on your tastes. As was mentioned before, start with small batches (4-5 ml) and experiment with it until you find what you like. There really is no "Golden Formula". Good luck!

when i first started using vg i got a small (8oz) bottle of vg and now i use that to mix 60% vg and 40% pg and then add my high nic liquid and flavor to that. it works for me and there isnt the constant trying to measure so much stuff, the only thing i have to do is the nic liquid and the flavor.
