Flavoring usually about 15%- could be higher or lower depending on the flavor used.
PG enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like - many of us believe PG to be a throat irritant.
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG.
Realize also if the juices were freshly made they may need to be steeped. If they smell or taste chemical- like or perfumey they need steeping IMO.

Some told me that a 50/50 blend would be the best... Any comments?

Personally, having had experimented with a few different PG/VG combinations, a 50/50 combo gives me the perfect combination of throat hit and flavor. It will vary per individual. I think that a 50/50 mix is a good place to start with a sample of e juice.

50/50 vs 70/30 will have a difference, but not "donkey dung" much of a difference. Let it steep!

True dat. May be more a guano level of difference. (Just kidding) the real difference so far in my experience is the chemical/alcohol extract tastes of the flavoring melo out quite a bit and the flavor homogenizes throughout the batch when it is allowed to age/"steep" for a time. Someone on the forums here also said that aging, steeping will usually not make a bad flavor good, but may make a good flavor great. I can see that being the case in about 95% of the juices.

Never noticed a difference. Glad to see this topic come up though. I have trouble having ANY flavor after about a day of mixing a couple of flavors together that I enjoy. I've bought all different combos of PG/VG, increased flavor, and purchased flavoring only to increase it, but no luck. I'm getting the impression that PG alone is the best for holding flavor. Even though I've been at this for almost four years, I don't know about the term "steeping." Can someone explain or is that taking this off-topic. (Still bemused that I've found myself having lost all my posts and a new member again!) I lost any throat-hit ages ago.

Exactly what I was after! Thank you!

After only 5 days without an analog I'm mostly over the TH. A bad craving warrants some good TH, but 80% of the time I just want to vape a little flavor and get my nic fix. I actually picked more mellow flavors for just that reason, having something to vape while driving (where I want constant hits) that won't kill my throat. I even backed off the nic level a tad (18 vs 16).

I knew exactly what I wanted. Just shocked at the flavor once home. I'll try again in a few days. Best damn coffee I ever had, so I'm horribly anxious.
