Okay folks. Without a doubt this has been asked 1000 times and yes, I have read a ton. I just cant find the answer.

If I buy THIS I still need to buy PG/VG I know. But...How do I know how much of the NIC juice to use? Say for a 10ml bottle? Or, If I get just plain ole nic from wizard labs, how do I know how much.

Basicly, My mind sees an empty bottle. I would add PG, then VG, then the flavoring, then how much nic juice. IF I use the calc it says to add the nic juice mentioned above to 97% and the rest is flavor. Is that right? Just hold my hand for a minute with the PG/VG/NIC stuff. If it helps, my target would be 70PG/30VG and nic anywhere from 6 to 10. Thanks

Actually the nic your way u can pick your PG/VG % and they offer in 12mg of nic soif you want simple there you go.. Just add flavoring and you'll be around 10mg.. They also offer in 6mg but add in flavor and you drop below 6. I started with the ready mixed from wizards labs at 18mg for my first DIY.. Makes it easy and you don't have to worry about poisoning yourself until your more comfortable with mixing at higher levels.. Hope that helps.

Exactly, That's what I was (maybe still will) gonna do too. I'm just buying several of the flavoring from VZ so I figured I'd get the nic there too.

BUT for the other poster....I was going to buy the 70/30 nic in 6 or 12mg. So, that means I don't need to actually add any plain ole PG/VG if I go that route right?

If that's the case I may start out like this and then buy plain 12mg nic from wizard labs later unless someone knows of a reason I should avoid the nic from that vendor.

That is a good way to get your feet wet. I did the same when I started DIY. I wasn't afraid of poisoning myself, I worked in a lab (OK, maybe a little ). I just wanted to keep it simple and not order a lot in case I didn't like DIY. Just order very close to the strength you currently vape, and some flavoring.

If you order the super-concentrated flavoring, you only use 2.5% so you won't be reducing the nic. strength as much as the regular flavorings.

Ahhh.

I didn't see the link.

I recommend getting nic HERE

It's wayyy cheaper and with 60mg you get more bang for your buck. And it's Wizard labs nic.

Then just work the calculator to what you want. Get a little bottle of PG and buy a big bottle of VG at Wally World(3 bucks).

You can get flavoring at the above as well.

From the looks of it for $20.29 you can get 500ml from wizards in 70/30 12mg.. At that other site it over $60..

Ah, I'll do that then. Heard great things about wizard labs nic anyway. BUT. My question still remains. If I get 12mg 70/30 nic all I need to do is add flavoring and let it steep right?

EDIT: Looks like Caridwen was typing while I was. Sounds great. THANK YOU very much for being patient with me while I know this has probably been covered a million times before.

Yes... Mix small batches at first do your not wasting your nic! I do 3-5 ml to start. Good luck!

Dont buy the already mixed stuff. You may end up not liking that ratio, and its a little harder to adjust it.
Buy 100% PG or VG Nic Liquid in whatever strength. I normally buy 100mg...but for a beginner....
You may want say 36mg as it is safer to work with if you get it on your hands or whatnot (wear gloves!)

Then buy a normal bottle of PG and VG. They are cheap, get whatever size your budget allows.

Then download the Ejuice Me Up calculator and install it on the computer. (there is also phone apps, but I prefer the PC one)
Open it up...

Nicotine Strength e-Juice = put your percentage of PG or VG. So that would be 100% in one of the boxes.
Nicotine Strength would be whatever you bought. 36mg...48mg...whatever

Target Nicotine Strength = What you want to end up with. So if you only want to have 6mg..... then you put 6 in that box.

Amount to make = Self explanatory really.... you want a 10ml bottle....put 10 in there.

Water/Vodka/PGA = If your going to put any water or anything into the mix.....add the percent here. I usually leave it at 0%

Flav 1 = Name your flavor IE Bavarian Cream (TFA). You can name it whatever..but i normally put the name and vendor of who makes it because you can save your recipes. If you know its Bavarian Cream (TFA) then you can easily buy it again later.
In the PG/VG boxes add what you have. My flavorings usually are 100% PG... if your not sure what you have, you can look at the vendors site or simply ask. From what I normally buy...I always have gotten 100% PG.
The last box is the percentage. So if you want to add 10% Bavarian Cream....put a 10 in that box.

Flav 2 - Flav 5 are set up the same way. They are used for multi mix juices.

So if you have 3 flavors....
Flav1 - Bavarian Cream (TFA) / 100%pg / 5%
Flav2 - Caramel (TFA) / 100%pg / 5%
Flav3 - RY4 (TFA) / 100%pg / 10%

That is just an example...I have never tried that mix....its just to show you how multiple flavors would be added.

Next.... you have Drops Equal 1ml. It defaults to 20. I normally make mine 40.... but you have to test that with what syringes, pipets, droppers your using. Some droppers flow fast...and 20 drops out of it give you 1ml. Others drip really slow and tight....so it takes alot more "drops" to get 1ml.

Next.... where it says PG / VG underneath the drops part...put in the ratio you want. 70/30 , 60/40, 100/0, 62, 38....whatever.

Lastly.....hit Calculate at the bottom. It does the math for you and gives you the % of what you need to put into a bottle to get your juice. I would recommend using the ML column, because then your drop count really doesnt matter. If it says you need 3.2ml of nic liquid, 1.2 pg and 2.0 vg. Just take your syringe or pipet and measure out 3.2 nic....drop it in your bottle. 1.2 pg....drop in bottle and 2.0 and drop in bottle. Give a good shake!

Now you can either vape it like that, you can heat it to try and quick steep it....or you can let it sit for awhile..days...weeks... to let it steep (basically letting the chemicals mix well over time). That is another explanation all of its own though on how to steep liquid.

After you get the calculator working...save your recipes....you can quickly call them up and remake your liquid quickly.
I would also highly recommend making small batches, mixing and matching....until you find what you like.
You can make a small amount...say 1ml or 3ml....WITHOUT your nicotine liquid and vape it.
If you like the taste of the general mix..... then add nic liquid. If you hate it....then try again.

I am very greatful for your answers and detail taking to assist me here. I have ordered a small fortune in PG/VG/NIC etc so I am excited to get going with this.

But I do have another question. EXAMPLE: wizardlabs has some "flavors" and some say "flavor concentrates". Should I read that as those are stronger? Both say usage at 5%

I looked and a flavoring that works well around 10% has "flavor concentrate" and one that works at well below 1% has "flavor concentrate" then one that doesn't work for me until almost 30% has "flavor concentrate".

That tells me the phrase is meaningless except to warn folks that it isn't juice.

Was kinda thinking the same thing. Different day added to the site etc. Gheesh. 30%. I'm only getting the little viles. Hope I can get by with less than that. Will see soon. Thanks

Wizzard labs. 24mg 500ml

Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

They package their product nicely for mailing and getting 24 mg means you will have a nice vape. If you want to cut down to closer to 18mg or 12 in the future it will be easy to add a little pg or vg to dilute the nic.

I like fruits at 10% with 5% ethyl malto so that would mean you would be at about 20.4 %
