I'm looking into ordering some sample flavors to try out. I'm currently vaping V2's Congress 24mg e-liquid. I am unable to find what their PG/VG ratio is. The most important characteristic aside from flavor with vaping is throat hit. If I don't feel the hit, i'm left unsatisfied and will continue to vape harder and deeper looking for that hit.
At the moment i'm using a V2 setup with their refillable EX blanks. They work decently I guess and I can get a decent throat hit but I find that I am being left with an oily like coating in my mouth and throat after a few hits.
I have a eGo VV Mini Protank kit coming in the mail.
What ratio of PG/VG should I choose when ordering some e-liquid samples that will provide me with a satisfactory throat hit?

On another note, I like tobacco flavor and the current Congress flavor I'm using is similar to Kent cigarette type flavor. I was a Marlboro ultra lights smoker but found V2's Red tobacco flavor to have to much of a sweet after taste.
Are there recommendations on good tobacco e-liquids I could try?
The only other flavor I have tried is mint tea which was pretty nice. Any recommendations on some other flavors I might try? I don't see myself liking creamy, sweet candy type stuff, especially if i'm having a few beers or sipping Rum drinks.

This forum has been a huge help with information.
Thanks to all

Juice Components
Flavoring usually about 3- 15%- could be higher or lower depending on the flavor used.
PG enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like - many of us believe PG to be a throat irritant.
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG BUT many are now moving towards a 50/ 50 ratio as it gives a smoother less harsh vape.
Although I HATED menthol analogs (would go without rather than smoke one) I find adding Menthol gives a "smooth/ cool" TH. You can buy bottles of menthol and add it to your juice or the most inexpensive way- buy menthol crystals, add PG and shake- bought $10 worth and prolly have enuff for the next 10 yrs
As far as Tobacco juices I like Tobacco Absolute/ TA (add only a very small amount to your juice)Realize though vapers either LOVE it or HATE it. Also enjoyed DKTab and RY4.

Would it be correct to say that the PG provides the throat hit aside from the nic? I'm going to down my nic to 18mg next time. I think 24mg may be to much for me.

NO!!!! PG provides NO throat hit. What it does is allow more of the throat hit from the nicotine to come through. VG mutes the throat hit to a degree.

A 20% - 35% VG level should have only a small effect in diminishing the throat hit. Unless you like a very strong tobacco taste, I would suggest trying Hangsen's Smooth (Silky) Tobacco e-liquid from: Silky Hangsen e-cigarette e-liquid

I find it similar to Marolboro lights or Kent. Hangsen is known for their many tobacco flavored e-liquids. I would try several of them. I also like their Southeast County. Caterpillar Vapes has good prices, low shipping costs and excellent customer service.

My own point of view is that it all comes down to flavour. It doesn't seem to matter about nicotine content to me. I use 3.6mg nicotine in all my liquids. I buy several new flavours at a time and go through them one by one. Most don't satisfy, meaning they don't give a prominent throat hit !. Those that do become a regular daily vape for me. I only vape with 100% VG simply because pg is like water and it goes too quick, doesn't last !. Most people say pg is a better vehicle for flavour over VG, personally i don't see it. The flavour i get vaping VG is fine. At the moment i am vaping something called "cinnamon apple". The flavour is off the scale, the throat hit makes my eyes water (in a good way), and vapour production is great.

From my experience e liquids are not an exact science. Or a better way of putting it is different e liquids affect different people in different ways. People do try to define the affects of vg and pg regularly don't they. As far as i know the only real difference is one produces a lot of vapour, VG, and the other does not, pg. That's about the only realistic difference that i have experienced. But that's just me !.
