How important is the quality of your VG/PG/nic liquid? I see these for sale all over the place and in some cases the prices vary quite a bit. I don't mind paying more if the quality is better, but I have no idea what, if any, difference there is from vendor to vendor. Is it all mostly the same no matter where you buy it and what brand name is on the bottle, or is there a noticable difference?

I have found USP PG is the same no matter where I got it or who's name is on the label.

Now, USP VG is another matter. I have tired a number of different ones and have settled on one that has, for me, the best...."texture" is the only word I can come up with for what it is. It is more about the way it feels in the mouth, handles and mixes than anything to do with taste or smell. Try different ones and see which you like the best.

Care to share what brand that is so I can try it?

almost all USP glycerin available in small amounts in United states stores is manufactured by HUMCO and labeled as a skin protectant/lubricant. WIltons is Kosher, not USP but a lot of people like it.

As far as PG, I get mine from TSC. Any veterinary outlet or feed store should sell it as a livestock remedy for ketosis. As long as it is USP it is good.

I had a bad expierence with TSc PG. It did not mix with anything and tasted like burning tires. Luckly I got some from the vet hospital i work for. It was cheaper and very high quality, I am glad to have had that opition that alot of others don't. As far as VG I use the Humco from Wal-mart and is as good or better than the all natural hippie stuff I got for about 5 dollars more at the health food organic store. I think I got a bad batch of PG from TSC because most people seem to like it alot.

    PG/VG----NIC-LIQUID----

Once they add nic to your base, it can change the taste, sometimes peppery(some folks like this), sweatsocky, or chemically smellying.

I don't like ANY taste, and am 4th supplier. I vape unflavored, so taste matters alot. If'n you put flavors in, you might not notice as much as I.

My supplier at the moment is:One Stop DIY Shop, the suppliers that failed me are Myfreedomsmokes, RTS, Crystalclearvaping, Vaporrenu.

Wow, thanks for all the info! I made my first DIY purchases today and did get several things from One Stop DIY Shop. (They shipped very quickly.) I think I'll also try some of the NOW brand of VG and grab some generic VG at the local drugstore and see if I can tell any difference. Right now I'm just hoping that I don't get all obsessive and end up with a kitchen that looks like a chemistry lab. (Ok I admit it, with all the bottles of juice I have it sorta does look that way already anyway, but at least I can still fit everything in one cabinet!)

Ah, that's tougher than it may seem. It is made by P&G and is only available in gallon containers. That's quite a bit for a test run...

I got 2 gallons of the p&G as well, been using it for some time and like it a lot, I agree with you Hoosier !

But at least the first gallon is free! Go to the P&G website and request a sample. It will most likely be one gallon that they send you. http://www.pgchemicals.com/default.asp?page=samples&region=Americas

The MSDS on the product page tells you not to inhale it.

    Potential health effects:

Routes of exposure Inhalation. Ingestion. Skin contact. Eye contact.

Inhalation: Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapors/spray. High mist concentrations may cause irritation of respiratory tract.

Check out the MSDS for any PG next.

    Then grab a vanilla MSDS.

    Those two are fun.

Then drink a Coke and check out the MSDS for the phosphoric acid listed in its ingredients.

You'll love those much better, then tell us what you found?

(For those that understand MSDS's, I look at this as a teaching opportunity as to what they are and are not for those that may be confused.)

As long as it is USP grade it should be fine. I haven't had any problem with mine.
