I would post this in the DIY forum but don't have permission yet...

Have read LOTS about PG and VG and need clarification.

Which produces more vapor? I think I read boiling points are different.

Seems like lower boiling point would be better for atty's?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

PG seems to have a thinner vapor that disappates quicker than VG, both produce good vapor, but in my experience VG clearly is thicker.

As far as what is better for atomizers, you'll hear various opinions, and I think it's hard to say for sure if one is better than the other, simply because atomizer life is dependant on so many variables.

All of my liquid is PG based, which I normally cut 40/50/10 (VG/PG e-liquid/flavoring). Of course I am still new at this, but it's working great for me so far.

A few points i know about both.

1. Pure Vg needs to be diluted with distilled water it's thick and viscous.
i mix my own liquids so i add distilled water to dilute it.

2. VG breaks down into glucose in your body, and glucose represents calories.

3. PG breaks down as lactic acid.

4. there are many more PG based ready made liquids than VG.

i would go with PG unless you have allergies to it and a re forced to use VG.

i actually mix them both together sometimes, and can not tell a difference in vapor production.

The liquid i have found that gives most favor to date is ecopure, followed by liquids sold by vapor country and liquidexpress.

PG is propylene glycol which I believe is glycerin made from animal products.
VG is vegetable glycerin which is made from plant products.

As far as differences go, this is what I have gathered from reading things here and there, and hopefully someone will correct me if wrong or provide different opinions...

1) VG is thicker (more viscous)
2) VG vaporizes at a lower temperature
3) VG produces better vapor
4) VG is somewhat sweeter

Because of the above...

1) VG does not wick quite as well
2) VG may gunk up your atomizer more quickly
3) VG produces a somewhat cooler vapor which may reduce throat hit
