Hi folks,

I have a very tender throat due to some surgeries and more surgeries scheduled for the future. I also have asthma and too many allergies to bore you with.

I had to quit smoking a long time ago and I really didn't have a choice. I can't even be anywhere that people produce smoke of any kind. No bonfire toasted marshmallows for me, either. *sniff*

ANYWAY... With lightweight equipment, I don't notice any irritation for PG or VG. But with ... whoopin equipment like the PS PT, I can heat up the VG to an irritating level, but usually not the PG. And, I'm a dripper. If I take one to many inhalations off the drips using the PS PT, it's very hurtful in my throat. I don't remember this happening when using carts. Also, I never use nicotine in any formula. It is an irritant for me. Always was. I was a Carlton girl my whole smoking "career."

When the temp is just right, the PG or VG and distilled water are quite soothing, comforting to my throat. (no tobacco extracts for me, just imitation flavors in pg.)

Can anyone else relate to this? If there is already a thread running about this info running somewhere on this forum, please don't use your time re-inventing the wheel over here. I'd be just as grateful if you'd point me in the right direction with a link.

Thanks, --Lucy

But have any of you vaped that last bit of liquid from a 5 drop serving on any of the PS equipment and tasted something that was so harsh and nasty that you consider giving up vaping too? That happens enough to me that sometimes I go back to my ChinaCheapie PT just to avoid that eye popping, breath stealing surprise.

Oh yeah, I never use ChinaCheapie liquid. The year of the melamine vaping dog was enough to scare me away from consuming anything from that country.

I don't hear about this problem from anyone and so I'm leaning toward thinking it's just the poor condition of my throat right now.

Anyone else with a touchy throat like that?

you're talking about a taste that is purely acrid, i know that taste. well, i'm guessing.

what is your inhalation method? if you draw to the mouth, then inhale to the lungs, you can often avoid that burnt taste. i can't inhale directly to the lungs when vaping, otherwise i get that horrible burnt, makes you gag and want to vomit and cough taste.

i think that is less related to vg or pg and more related to the lack of juice on the atty.

you are not alone lorgain!!! In my vid I have uploading ... it happened to me! That weird acidic taste on my PT. :-x Only happens when I haven't juiced it recently and have missed that *1 puff* warning sign right before the acidic taste

Yes!!! You both have nailed it.

Cash, what is your *1 puff* warning signal? If I could identify that, I would avoid this problem all together. When I try to reload the atty before it's really empty, I end up flooding the gear before the end of the day.

I only have a PureSmoker PT. Are there other PureSmoker products at different voltage levels that won't produce that "oops, I went too far" puff? Is this all about the voltage level as I suspected?

Sometimes I amaze myself that I can't let go of any behavior where there could be some body pain involved. Then I think about addictions other people have and realize that mine is pretty tame and fairly boring. Especially when compared to people addicted to excitement!!! Always wanting to face down death. Oh yeah, my level of addiction doesn't even qualify.

the warning signal is often a normal drag lightly flavored with dry atty taste. you have to be paying attention to catch it, it can be subtle. depending on your flavor, too, it may be harder to detect if the flavors are strong.

i find that vg does thicken in the cold weather (yes, we are the desert, but the high desert gets snowed on pretty well) and make the atty slurpy. then you have to blow it out, and that can be a task too, because it is so thick.

i guess in the wintertime, i am going to have to "winterize" my liquids by using a higher pg concentration. 50/50 is no good right now.
