So my guess is..those in legislature that BT do not have in their back pockets are looking at the huge tax revenues e-cigs and their components will bring into their states. it's almost certain all 50 states will adopt high taxes on ecigs as time goes by. Not to mention the FDA proposals that will drive the costs up much further.

Not to sound Flippant.

But Isn't that What you would Do if you were Looking to bring Revenue into your State?

Tax something that has a Smaller Voter Base. And has been Associated with something that People Don't have a Problem with Taxing... tobacco.

It most certainly lead to people not buying cigarettes..or cutting back on buying them. The same will go for e-cigs if juice is taxed as much, or the same as tobacco cigs.

To a LOT of People, this would be Considered a Good Thing. (Whether it is True or Not.)

So there is No Down Side to Heavy Tobacco Taxation. No Body Quits = More Tax Revenue. Lots of People Quit = Less Smokers with Health Problems. Unfortunately, e-Cigarettes have the Ability to Do Both.

That is a Perfect Storm Double Whammy.

BT don't care. They know they will get dollars from their brand of ecigs and regular ones too. ANTZ don't care and probably endorse high taxes on ecigs. Remember they feel that they are saving lives abolishing any tobacco product. If ecigs are gone from the market, so be it as long as regular cigarettes are no longer available. Or are so expensive nobody wants them. With ANTZ it's a moral issue and one worth cheating on the evidence about harm reduction for.

It really makes me want to throw the hell up!

What Do You Mean BT Doesn't Care? Read the Title of this Thread.

You don't spend Over 700 Million Dollars on something and then Don't Care if it Doesn't Work.

People Don't like to Here this. But if BT wasn't Involved, e-Cigarettes would be Gone.

BTW - Stopping thinking about e-Cigarettes being Good or Bad, Healthy or Unhealthy.

And just think of them as Product "X" which represents a +4 Billion Dollar US Market. And a Vehicle for Taxation that is the Same or More.

When you Look at it that way, All the Answers and All the Motivations become Clear.

Yes well that is true. They care enough to move their companies over seas to avoid the high business taxes here in the US. They have the Asian market and the rest of the world to sell to. So why should they care if we in the US have to pay higher taxes on ecigs. Or Product X as you say. lol

e-Liquids will be Taxed. They will be Taxed on the State and Federal Level. There is No Maybe about it.

The Question just becomes at What Level? And How will the Tax Monies be Spent?

If they told you they were going to Put a $1 Tax on 30ml of e-Liquid, and Every Single Penny was going to the School Systems, how do you think People would perceive e-Liquids?

An ANTZ groups might Back Off a bit when they see a Dump Truck full of Cash rolling up to their Local School. Not Saying that this is How it going to Happen. But Tax Revenues can be Used to Sway Public Opinion.

Nobody thought Legalizing "the stuff we Can't talk about" was a good Idea. Until people started saying that it could be Taxed. Then Many who were on the Fence, or just Mildly Apposed, jump over and Starting say it a Good Idea.

Nothing is Preventing the Same thing from Happening with e-Liquids. If it is Done Right. And a certain amount of PR is Applied.

And guess who will be Stuffing their Pockets with Profits while All this Happens?
