I love to hunt with my bow. I have an older Matthews DXT, but it gets the job done. Archery season out here is during the rut as well. Makes it easy during rut when all the deer and elk can think about is getting laid. :)

That's the point! :p Once they have gotten some they are extremely hard to find. And then after hunting season is over they are hanging out on the lake in our back yard like they have nothing to be afraid of! This picture was taken from the balcony in my bedroom after hunting season was over!

the one elk I got we had to quarter her in the field and hike her out.. Good thing we made it in one trip, it was a pretty warm day :)

Well if you come out this way I'm sure the hubby will have the quad near by :p

lol I been trolling this thread for days, I didn't realize this was the contest thread, I thought this was that chat thread from before, lol.

Well the subject clearly says contest. I had to close my "chat" thread to have the contest, only allowed two threads and if we start chatting in my product thread no one will be able to find relevant info on our product. So it is what is!

Sorry it was confusing to you!

Another reason Phiniac needs its own sub-forum :D

Agreed, yea I have been enjoying this community, it is like it's own sub culture, which I have yet to truely belong too.....Coqui.....Coqui.......

Well Karmachine you are a welcomed member here, sit back, kick your shoes off and feel like you belong!

Matadorx, you do know there is like a one year wait for your own forum... I look further into what is involved, but I will feel really silly if I got one and no one posted in it.

Heck I can have a forum up and running in under 1/2 at phiniac.com... but again it will be embarrassing when only us are posting in it. Word association is not that fun with only you and I playing!

Phiniac deserves its own forum. Get on the list. You have many loyal followers that will post there :)

Thats nothing, I'll post some more pictures of my back yard and front yard for you! Sadly we don't have a guest room! My mom has a small little guest cabin, but you have to keep a fire going in the wood burner if you want to stay warm!

O.K here we go... Life in my back yard, all taken from the back porch!

This is my friend the bald eagle, for close to a decade I've been trying to get a photo of him pulling a fish out of the lake, but he wait until I have to pee or just can't stand in the rain any longer... I'll go inside for a moment and my son will come running in yelling "Mommy you missed it" The one time I actually saw him pull out a fish, I did not have a camera any where near me!

The eagle is landing...

And this the most action I have gotten out of him in a decade!

And finally, I was not on the back deck for these but actually down at the lake... My daughter catching her first fish (taken ten years ago) in our "back yard"

And daddy proudly checking it out!

So there you have it Matadorx, the elk in my opinion aren't that exciting when you have moose and bald eagles to look at! But you are always welcome to grab your bow and rifle to check it out yourself... Just no hunting on the property!

Life in the wilderness or "the middle of nowhere" as I prefer to call it, is truly awesome but has it draw backs... The winters are just down right freezing, by the time you truly warm up summer is over and it starts all over again. If you want to do something as simple as go grocery shopping or catch a movie it involves an hour and half of driving (there and back) on icy, snow dangerous mountain roads, our main road to town is considered the most dangerous highway in the country. And pray you never need to be rushed to the hospital because if you do, you are taking a helicopter ride to do so. The helicopter isn't so bad for us because it lands in my moms front yard (the biggest clearing in the area) and our fire department didn't show up until after my moms house finished burning down...

So the wilderness certainly has its perk, but the life style isn't easy!
