Yup, I am sorry about that. The worst part is Chris went to the post office yesterday when they were opened, grabbed the mail out of the box and left. He didn't actually look through the mail until today when the post office was closed for the weekend only to find the little notice saying that they were holding a box that was too big to fit :(

I am not 100% sure if it will work. But assuming it is I do not know if we will finish everything we need to do before I go for my surgery this coming Friday. We first have to do some testing to see what works and what does not. Then we have to make some samples for photographing after we figure out what we can and can't do and then we have to get it all up on the website.

Keep on eye out on this thread and you won't miss it... I'll do my best to send you a PM as well. You can also join the 'products added' newsletter as we will definately send out a blast to people on that list :)

Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks - Newsletter Subscriptions

I think I already do subscribe, and no worries just making fun, I just have a thing for GITD stuff. And it's my birthday that's why I was dancing with my ballon.

I do the same thing Chris did all the time to :( so I know how it is.

Thank you :2cool:

Hey there, I was hoping someone could help me out with the outer diameter of the caps for the Skinny Phinny? Also, if I were to get that in frosted, is the diameter of the tank itself still 17mm? Thanks in advance for any help; I need a new tank for an e-pipe and am trying to find the best fit size-wise.

The outer diameter of the caps is 17mm so the tank would be about 1ml less in diameter for frosted or naked. If I got that wrong I'm sure moorea will be along to correct me.

Ah. See, a friend of mine has a regular Phiniac and the caps are ever so slightly larger in diameter then the tank. I didn't get a chance to measure it, but I assumed the listed diameter was for the glass itself and did not include the extra little bit the caps account for. In fact the astrix on the tank specs page that says dimensions may vary slightly due to the heating process makes me think my logic is correct, as I would imagine the caps would all be uniform. I may be mistaken here...

BTW Sorry for splitting hairs over millimeters here, I'm .... about these things.

The caps do extend "ever so slightly" beyond the tank. Maybe even slightly less on the skinny's than the regs.

I hope someone can help. I have a carto that is most definitely stuck in my Phiniac. I'm not sure what happened: it went in just fine and in fact I'd already re-filled it once. The tank as around 8 months old and I've never had to change any o-rings. It has delrin end-caps. I've tried pushing the carto out with a tank tool (Phiniac); I've tried pulling it out using an old Twist; I've tried removing the end-caps; I've even soaked it in hot (not boiling) water. Any advice?

Try soaking it in some juice. It will act as a lubricant.

Reidus, is the carto stuck in the tank as in being held by the orings ? The freezer method should work. If you are not worried about the orings or carto, hold the tank tight and use pliers on the threads of the carto and twist/pull. Try it after putting it in the freezer.

Once you do get it out, boil/clean everything and replace all orings.

I buy mine in bulk from Phin's manufacture so I have 200 cap orings and 200 carto orings.
