A big thanks goes out to all the members of ECF who have tutorials on these guys.

My rba was days a way from going in the cabinet for ever until I tried Stainless wick. Omg the clouds parted and it was amazing. The flavor was so clean and vapor huge. It took less then 15 minutes from rolling wick to vaping.

Thanks again to everyone who's post have helped me.

Depending on which videos you refer to, trust me on this. This is a condensed text version of what you may have seen from some of the videos the experts have out there. Pre-wind your coil on a 3/32 drill bit (smooth end), place it vertical in your Phoenix and try to get as short of a length of wire to the posts as possible, maybe even tilted slightly, but mostly upright keeping coils tight. Remove drill bit. Fire up the coil red a few times without a wick on low volts. Then wind up your mesh fairly tight using the usual heat before rolling and after method, then lighter burn with highest VG juice you have 3-4 times. Gauge the thickness with the drill bit trying to duplicate the same thickness. Twist into the coil (should go in fairly tight) and then wet before testing ohms or firing it again. Even out coil rings and check for hot spots. Grab hold of the top and trim down to same height as the tallest post, or better yet trim before inserting. Make sure the bottom of wick isn't touching any metal. This has worked every time for me. I really like these things for dripping and testing juices. If you want to change juices, lightly flush with water and be sure to douse the wick with some of the new juice after drying before you do anything else. Do not dry burn. Blotting with a paper towel speeds up the process a bit, but be very gentle and make sure it's wet with juice before use. Fill it with about 15 drops of juice and you're ready to go. A 5/4 wrap of 32ga Kanthal should get you roughly 1.8-2.0 ohms. I normally run that at 4.5v YMMV. Have fun.

After a frustrating evening I am going to take the above advise and try and put the coil in unwicked. As a novice I was surprised at how the hot spots occur with any appreciable length of wire in free air. It may work better but I think the trade off maybe that the coil wire may deform while being placed and screwed down. I got three 080 washers from Ace and can use them on one of the posts to stagger the connections vertically. Not letting the metal wick touch the body is also a good idea. Heat sink. I'll let you know. Thanks.
