K, got my phoenix, took the entire thing apart, except

The 510 connector pin does not want to come off the disc. I recall its actually two pieces, so it should. Any thoughts? My fingers are getting TOwwWN up!

the 510 connector pin and the disk are one piece except for the very end away from the plate. That little piece is like a sleeve that will come loose when you drill it.

Grrrrrrrr cant even friggin post a pic from this thread.

Anyway Cyrus, in post number 70 by Urquidezj the top pic shows the post and if you look real close near the top you can see the separation line. Like a little top hat.

pic #3 shows the little top hat on the right all by itself..

I made a couple of modifications to the modification and ended up with a Ce-2 cup just above the contact post.:p

Sorry no pics. Prolly wouldn't help anyway as mine is a little canabalized. One of the contact post broke off at the side hole whilst taking it out. So when I repaired it I made it longer and extended the other one to match.

Anyway I'll try and explain it.

I used the same process as Urquidezj in this thread. Except I used a 2mm drill bit to bore the center hole. The bit wobble made it just a tad bigger for a easy fit of the 2mm CE-2 post.

Put it all back together.
Then unscrew the screw in the post a couple of full turns
push a CE-2 post up from the bottom past the post
put a CE-2 cup on the post and push it back down until the cup rest on screws.
Now there is 2 options.
You can solder the CE-2 post to the center post on the bottom and cut it off with a dremel or whatever.
Or you can mark the CE-2 post flush with the bottom. Take it all apart and solder the CE-2 post to the center post on the top plate.
I did it this way as to seal up the drilled out top plate from any contamination to my joose.

No leaks and no shorts.

Maybe someone who can take pictures can try this and post it.Cough, Cough, Urqui. LOL
