I'm a lucky guy because I have been using REO's for over three years. I bought the original Wood REO and it was love at first vape. As a matter of fact my Grand was my constant companion for over 18 months. However, there was one flaw in an otherwise fantastic system and that was the pre built disposable atomizers that lacked consistency and were expensive. Now with rba's like the RM2 I, like Super X, believe we've reached vaping nirvana. You can set up your coil at any resistance you desire employing just about any wicking material that exists. Believe me I've tried just about everything else and nothing else provides such a leak free, simple and more durable experience.

Which set up would you say gives you the best flavour and vapor,.
The original Genisis were top fed and they worked well because gravity helped wicking. I never liked the taste of my own setups so I hunted down the people who raved over the "clear taste" and "perfect setups" of their gennies. I asked on every local vape meet over here if I could have a toot on their best genisis setup.

Well, to me they were all worse than what I could get out of a simple 306 dripper or a simple wick and coil setup in a RDA - with one exception: Citrus and menthol flavors work well in gennies, because they mask (or fit) the metallic taste.

I really wanted to like the genisis principle because it sounded logical, and I continued to find new things to wick with - 500 mesh, 7x19 steel wire, even had specially made ceramic wicks - nothing works like a simple fiber wick, at least not for me. I have an Orion, NGP, AGA-T, RSST, Cobra, Genisis-LV, Talos, because I thought the device might play the biggest role - it doesn't.

The current common tank style of bottom fed genisis atties has several drawbacks and is actually a step backwards from the original design in my view:
- leaking through the wick or fill hole
- wick works both ways and the discoloring of the liquid in the tank shows degrading quality
- wicking must work against gravity
- thick wick is a heat sink
- I have to fiddle with the positioning of the air hole against the mod

What I use now is either an Orion for the menthol, REO VVGs with Chalice, an Odysseus on a GGTS with a Kick and an electronic switch or a Kayfun on a Semovar or, it must be said, a Kanger Pro Tank on an MVP. They all have their strong points, but the VVGs are the go to mods for my VG heavy, gloopy liquids.

They are dripping without actually having to drip and I like that.

Everyone has their own values and I can understand how trying to find the best genisis setup can be a nice hobby, but while I fiddle with the hotspots, the ribbon Kanthal and the ceramic, I always have a REO within reach to have something reliable and tasteful to vape on =)

Best I have tried so far, and I have tried pretty much everything, when considering both flavor and vapor is 1/16th(ID, 3mm OD) Ekowool, 5 wraps at 1.2ohms with 30g A1 Kanthal in an ERA atomizer.

Nextel XC-116 1/32 is probably just a hair better on flavor but not quite as much vapor production with same kind of coil setup. Organic cotton ball wick with same coil is my go to stand by for overall ease of use/cost/flavor/vapor tho. The ekowool and xc-116 are probably 5-10% better tho in flavor, mainly with heavy juices.

Remember tho taste and performance is subjective. Just because this is my experience doesn't mean it will be the same for you or the next guy or gal. Course you prolly know that already :)

There is no absolute "best" for me. It depends too much on the liquid and the circumstances.

A fresh Cisco or Olympian 306 in a drip body on the Janty MID would be the best for taste and control (but that needs constant dripping), the Kayfun produces the most dense, juicy vape (but it doesn't work too well with thick and gloopy or very thin liquids). The Ody/Penelope/Ithaka are the best for fruity or tobacco flavors, but are cumbersome to set up and the GGTS needs modifications or frequent cleaning). A genisis might be the best for a couch session and menthol flavored juices.

The VVG with a Hornet or Chalice (or a good 306 or 510) is the best allrounder I own, though. (I don't have a RM2 yet)

I mostly use thin Kanthal D (usually 0.16mm, sometimes 0.20mm) and either the GG wick or the Kayfun wick (Ekowool) for the setups. The GG wick holds a tad more juice, the Ekowool holds longer between rewicks. Both wicks need to be torched and can be dry burned, the Kanthal should be heated before the setup. My coils are around 1.8 to 2.4 ohms on VV or VW devices.

Hey would anybody here be interested in putting a fc-2000 ceramic wick in their rm2, and telling me how it vapes? Heck if you don't want to buy any I'd send you a wick to experiment on.
I did that a while back and the FC-2000 was very nice in a Reomizer.
I enjoy the Braided Ceramic Wick and EkoWool more, it wicks better But I have to set up one tonight so I'll try the FC-2000 again.

I'm interested in this as well... Considering an REO and reomizer setup to use my broken ceramic fragments from my Zatty pro 2.1 setup (which I love but its so fragile!) does this sound like a good plan in order to have the best of both worlds?

There are many techniques. I used to put angle cutters, or nippers of some sort, right where I wanted the cut; then not hold any part of the stone. Holding one end while nipping the other can cause unforeseen twisting/sheer and, consequently, unwanted snappage. Just hover your operation over a soft surface, towel, your bed, whatever, and let the "chips fall where they may".

Another technique for snapping it is to try not to break it. :|
