Hey... is there any chance someone has a photo they can post of the INSIDE of the 510/tube hole, after the pin's been removed? My repair kit came in the mail today, but when I removed the old tube, 510 pin and gaskets I found a huge disgusting mess. I'm not knocking the person I bought the mod from (thanks colt!) because this thing was obviously loved to death, but I think this little guy might have to be mailed to Maine. :(

Basically when I look up inside the hole from inside the mod, I see little gummy shreds, and I can't tell if it's like dried juice, silicone, glue, or all of the above. I tried to remove some of it, but stopped and figured I'd ask for a photo.

Long story short, I'm trying to find out if the inside of that hole is supposed to be bare metal, or if I'm supposed to be seeing a permanent insulator in there. If it's the latter, it's been obliterated from use over the years and I guess I need a new one put in. :( Thank you all. Shame I still can't try this sucker.

Thanks. I can't express how upset I am, but I genuinely appreciate the quick help, as usual. I'll PM Rob and mail my $150 paperweight to him.

I hate that happened and I can imagine how much it sucks but on the bright side it will come back in tip top shape relaxed and ready for your vaping pleasure. I am happy to send you a loaner but it would not go out until Monday.

You are so generous, it's crazy. I am very thankful for your offer, but no thanks. Having no Reo yet will give me an excuse to go blow some money at my B&M, or tinker some more with my other RDA.

Ahh, what a bummer. Oh well, eh?

That's too bad man, I feel for ya.

On the bright side, Rob will fix it lighting fast and is more than fair on prices. I think mine took a week round trip.

Just include a note stating your name, e-mail, address, and the problem. Make sure there's no juice in the mod, Ship her out and she'll be tip top when you get her back.

I take excellent care of my REOs, but when I did the upgrade on the one I had for 3 years, the insulator was a gunky destroyed mess and I ended up digging it out (big mistake). It took a week-long vacation.

It's reassuring to hear that other people made the same exact mistake that I made. Thank you. The Reo's wrapped in bubble wrap and ready to go to the post office along with a hand-written note to Rob. I should've bought a brand new Grand instead of trying to save a couple pennies. Bah, live and learn.
