Was wondering if anyone else was using mesh over silica.
That is the type of set up I use in my Hero except 2-3mm silica with mesh.
Now I know.

it works uhh-may-zing on my RSST. The mesh kind of unraveled into a cone in the tank and the silica fibers were are a little frayed. No genny tilt for the win (why is F T W blocked?)! Wicking like a friggin champ!

I needed to get the wick not to droop onto the bottom of the coil on the Hero as both ends go through a common center hole very close to the coil.
I could not get full length mesh over silica to work as it creates a "needle eye".
Just covered the coil area only and voila wick no longer smothers the bottom of the coil.

Yeah, I mean, I read everywhere that the feed is best left open. I tried using a small roll of stainless steel mesh so it could still draw air into the tank but it didn't wick nearly as well. Figured this was the case. Oh well. I'll use it at home and not at work.

I still maintain, that I keep my four RBA's in my wife's LV purses, laid flat on the bottom, without worry. Not saying all RBA's can accomplish this, but mine do.

For the most part, all top coil RBA's will leak to some extent. It's the nature of the beast. You should leave a breather hole in order to wick properly and that's the issue.

I knew this fact, but I'll tell you it got drummed into me by my wife one night. We went to a comedy show a few weeks ago and I asked my wife to put my Provari with an AGA-T on it in her new Coach purse in one of the side pockets. It was standing up when she put it in there, but at some point, it fell over. We got outside about 3 hours later and I noticed half the tank was missing. That particular tank had a juice call Night at the movies, a buttered popcorn flavor. My wife is not real happy that her purse smells like a movie theater now, guess a trip to the Coach store is in order now.
Bottom line, keep them upright!!

Quick suggestions on that KTS. Sand the positive post under the head and the long negative post to get to the brass. Hits a bit harder!

what voltage are you running that at? I didnt know the ProVari would fire a 1.0ohm coil

The newer ones have an upgraded switch that will fire as low as .8ohm
