Hey all. I'm brand new here, and here's my story in as small a nutshell as I can put it for noobs like me who want to know:

A month a go, a friend of mine saw me reach for my cigarettes and pulled out his e-cig, saying, "Here, have a hit of this!". I said, what the f@(k is THAT? He told me, I had a vape, passed it back to him, and put my smokes back down. After a few minutes, I still wanted to have a smoke, but couldn't imagine it being better than his magic nicotine machine. I said, "I would much rather be addicted to THAT than cigarettes!", and went to the vape shop the next day. I was overwhelmed when I first looked at what was for sale, so I built what my friend had out of parts under the counter. To my surprise, I haven't "needed" a cigarette since. I've learned since that it was an eGo 900mAh battery (the blue one), and evod bcc tank (the little yellow one). I went back to the shop today and loaded up on more juice, a couple more slightly larger tanks (one blue (on the blue battery) and one yellow). I also picked up a new battery, the Seego G-hit (Silver) which came with a clear cartomizer and cap. Rock 'n Roll, and thank you all for showing me what I need next!

Holy snap! I haven't seen a gateway logo in awhile!

Mooo... They were the bomb back in the day. Then like all business, when the money started rolling in and angel investors reared their clammy hands, quality went down; price went up, and now they're a joke.

Since this is a pic thread, I'm including an early morning ipad shot of my VVG, blackberry, and an over-priced yankee candle because I live with a stupid woman.

The debate on China made knockoffs of pretty much all products (not just vaping devices) has been made as far back as the 80s. The US even began a policy to shun Chinese goods, and the economy suffered so greatly from it that the policy was immediately scraped.

From a purely economic standpoint, China won its place in the world market. Knockoffs aint going anywhere.
True that!

It's a cycle that's happened over and over again in nearly all manufacturing arenas.

One of my favorite examples was in the early to mid 80s. Japanese guitar company Ibanez made their name by making copies of American guitars that were of a higher quality than what was currently being produced by the American company they were copying (Gibson). When Gibson sued and won, Ibanez came out with their own, equally high quality designs. A few years later, the President and CEO of Ibanez was interviewed in Guitar Player magazine and his chief complaint was that Korea was making knockoffs of their designs and was able to sell them more cheaply because they weren't investing the R&D dollars.

As soon as another zone starts gaining the ability to manufacture knockoffs of Chinese designs, I'm pretty sure we'll see China adopt and respect some copyright laws...
