This is a take-off/homage to a scene in Singin' in the Rain (1952). Gene Kelley is a silent-screen star making the transition to talkies. During a diction lesson, he has to recite: "Moses supposes his toeses are roses, but Moses supposes erroneously. Moses he knowses his toeses aren't roses as Moses supposes his toeses to be." He turns the recitation into a tap dance. This video shows what might happen if is his shoes do the dance without him.
