It really just seems like a name change to me, no big deal. UR took the time to warn us and explain why it was being changed. I think they are trying to make it harder for people to be taken advantage of! Big hugs to our mods!

I don't think anyone is thinking you are trying to anger PIF members Toni. We know you are trying to protect the integrity. I suppose we just look back at what a cluster ... things became in the past but maybe we need to keep in mind that things are different now and honestly the fact that this thread is still going and you all are willing to at least listen, already shows that. And I agree, there shouldn't be as many needs as posted. As for what I wrote, I just tried to point out that sometimes what seems like a want could be a need. Heck if I know how you could tell the difference though.

I don't envy you all your task but I do thank you for letting people have their say even if you don't agree or the plan won't change. I think you two will be great mods.

I have been a mod since Jules left the first time, and I have not agreed with some of the "styles" of modding some people took... and I am still here trying to help things go smoothly. There must be a reason the ECF mods keep me here, right? lol With that being said, I know what has worked and what hasn't, I have heard the complaints, whining, anger and all that throughout everything. I really feel that with a social forum, everyone needs to be able to voice their opinions (as long as no rules are broken, cuz I will delete a post bashing someone, etc) and the others feel the same way. Which is exactly why this thread is still going now.

No that would be taking a pif and waiting 5 more pif's before you took another one.

And yes, I think you mods are GREAT! and have a lot of chit to deal with.....

I DO want to point out that you all have no idea what we as mods deal with in the background with the subforum of PIF. Someone else said it earlier, deciphering whether it is a need or a want is apparently too hard for some people to do, and if it continues as it has been going when it is changed to an emergency thread, then it will just be gone completely and those needs can be asked for in the wants thread. There should never be as many needs as there has been! Wants, yes, but not NEEDS. Our job as mods isn't to get 15 pm's a day about so and so posting this in this thread and this in another thread and they took this in another thread. It is to keep the PIF subforum running smoothly and making sure people are following ECF rules as well as PIF rules, and that is what we are trying to do. We are NOT trying to take things from you, we are trying to protect you. We didn't just say "Hey, wouldn't it be fun to make some members mad? Let's change the needs thread up a bit, that'll get em!" I mean, seriously! We wouldn't do something if it weren't in the best interest of the forum as a whole.[/B]

See all the crap from May as a prime example of what some thought was "the best interest of the forum as a whole" for a prime example that really wasn't...we can't really do a best interest of anything in reality... this is why we have elections and vote on things in this country...instead of just trusting someone to determine on their own what's best for us...

I really do see it turning that way again...

and if you see the needs thread as a problem and are just going to close it.... yet are going to let the PIF thread run as it has been unchecked.... then I have a huge problem with that...

Just to let you know how strongly I feel about this...
how these issues are handled in the next few days will determine for me if PIF is still a place where I want to hang out...

EDIT: heck I wouldn't even have much problem if it were a poll and voted on by the PIF members itself...but to just arbitrarily determine what's best for the group...and refuse to listen to other avenues or solutions....I dare say that's overstepping your bounds...

I can appreciate both sides to this discussion.....*prolly why I am a registered independent*...a rose by any other name.....abuse will occur IF WE LET IT. I was a part of the problem imo...I was an anonymous giver. I would PM the need and send... and no one on PIF knew that person A got 5 bottles of e-liquid and 3 attys from me. Now person A goes to PIF and takes 90ml e-liquid and PIFs a few ml of another e=liquid...not mine...*I thought you were out of juice?*....now person A is on needs and "needs " a LR atty....and a mod is now broken....no....a stock battery won't do. FRUSTRATING!!!! I will NEVER give quietly again. I don't like the atta girl chit....I don't give to receive. I receive so much from giving and I enjoy the people. I was a lurker invited by clumsy and I am out of the PIF closet. Been here a long while giving and watching.

Drozd...with love...I get your opinion as well. We need a firmer hand on abusers....not necessarily a name change if the majority agrees. I am flexible. I do vow to not be part of the problem again. For that I am sorry.

Demon. go to your local drug store and buy a prepaid reloadable cc. My hubby can't get a card and this is what he does. It works just like a cc and you can use it anywhere.

well i'll consider that when i've got at least $30 so it's 30 for a $20 purchase instead of $20 for a $10 purchase - the fees kind of kill it. it's 1 thing when someone can put upwards of $100 on it at any given time but i only get basically nickles and dimes so by the time the fees are paid, it's really not worth it. much more financially sound to buy stamps when i can and work out deals or trades of some sort. maybe in january after certain things happen providing i can get my ... in gear perhaps that option would be more feasable. i do thank you for helping by offering advice though

I would consider myself to be extremely new, I have been scouring this site basically nonstop since early September I believe. There is sooooo much info I didn't even find the PIF threads for about a week. I felt right at home in the PIF thread, loving just to see all the goodies being offered up. I have taken some offers, and I would hope my return offers have been adequate, but really I don't know....because I'm still so new to this. I have taken a couple treasure chest items, I have posted in the wants thread. Actually one of the wants was for empty bottles~specifically so I could offer items in the treasure chest and PIF's


I am hoping that I would not be considered a 'thread stalker' or used bad etiquette, IF I HAVE please tell me~! I love PIF, I love the 'family feel' of it all. I myself have noticed a couple of people accepting an offer of mine and then PM'ing saying they would also like this, this, and a couple of these if I don't mind, etc. It has gotten to me once or twice, but I just assumed that was the nature of the game for 'some' people.

Again, please let me know if I have done any of the acts in question.


And I think the mods do a fabulous job, I cannot even imagine what a PIA it must be.

Lynlee...first off you should be good...and my no means take what I say as a note on that thread as a whole...in theory it should work and work well and the concept for people expecially newer unexperienced people to try new stuff that they might not otherwise and trade stuff that they personally might not like or have use of for it..

what I and some others were getting at was some abuse and misuse of that thread... and the part I highlighted from your post IS an abuse...to take your offer and then request more stuff that wasn't in your offer, that's pretty uncalled for...

that is a good example of why I made my post....I did not know that was an abuse. I have never done that myself, just had it done to me but I wouldn't have thought of it as an abuse, just the 'give them a mile they want a yard' mentality. I really should look over all the rules, but like I said, there is SUCH a wealth of information available here that I lose myself in learning and it takes up all my time. I literally quit playing all my apps on Facebook, and the last time I logged in I had a message that had been sent 4 days earlier~!

I see that you've been a member for nearly a year so I imagine you've seen a lot of.......go on. I am just a bit paranoid by nature, plus I am new, I DO stalk the PIF thread~! I'm sure I could go way back and look through and see these offenses more clearly, but theres way too much out there for me to read~!

Editing to add that I cannot say the people who asked for more than was offered were in the PIF thread....I am all over the place, it could have been something I put in the treasure chest, or something I offered that was wanted in the wants/needs threads. I just really can't remember and don't wanna look through my PM's right now.

Hey all, so I havent really had to ask for anything on this thread.. and thats and good thing I guess. I am now asking for someone else. I have a friend that I would like to convert but dosent really trust e cigs. If I could I would send him a kits but I cant afford it. If anyone has a kit laying around that they would like to see go to good use... I have a good use.
