Hi i have had the Pilot hybrid for a few months now, and i must say it is my fav E-cig thus far. I do however have a strange problem with one of my batteries, that recently developed.
Both of my batteries appear to go into a self clean mode one every couple of weeks, the atomizer gets hot for 30 seconds, and if i take the cartridge off i can see the coils under the metal mesh are red. This actually seems to be better than my old pen style atomizers cleaning cycle, which would give it a horrible taste. The funny thing is i have heard that the pilot does not have a cleaning cycle. i emailed pure smoker and from the email it seemed like they had observed what i am talking about.
Tonight i charged one of my batteries, plugged in the atomizer, and it seems to be in a constant cleaning cycle. the atmomizer gets hot, and it doesnt stop. I can not afford to get another battery right now, and was wondering if any one has experienced this problem as well? what should i do? should i try to drain the battery and see if after charging it again its fixed itself? i figure its a chip problem in the battery, as i have isolated it to the battery, i have two batteries and only one is doing this.

I have a battery that's doing that constantly, its really quite annoying, because you puff for a few seconds, then it stays hot (LED is off), and the timeout kicks in, and I gotta wait another 2 minutes to puff again....or change the battery for a few puffs.

I've tapped, blown, used compressed air on the battery...none work in the long run, I think its sticky inside the battery and would like to clean it out somehow...but how to do so without messing up the battery is beyond me.

I wonder if a very tad bit of WD-40 or simular (teflon, silicon) spray would loosen it up? Maybe use a syringe to put very small amount on the inside?

I've had mine going for about a month, no trouble yet.
I don't like the short M402 bat.

Get some of this stuff at your auto parts store. It is safe for delicate electronic parts and evaporates completely. I can't say for sure it will work and will not short out the battery but I'll try it in the morning and post back here if it survives or not.

Yeah it must have been clogged. i actually just took a square of tissue paper, rolled it between my fingers till it was a small thin spike, and then i lightly whetted the tip. i pushed it through the hole on the battery a few times, then blew into it. It seems to have made it alot better, i figure a few more times of doing that and it should be fixed.

It probably doesn't take more than a piece of lint to screw 'em up. Do you carry it loose in your pocket?
Tell ya what though....I wouldn't trade my Pilot for any other mini. After 24 days of use, I get this thing steam rollin'.
Atomizer is strong! Gotta keep the airway clear.... Then "A"- OK!

yeah, but usually the battery is screwed into the atomizer, plus im a little ocd, so there is almost no lint in pockets. also i have the one with four air holes, which are very tiny, so i can imagine how lint could get into those holes, and then into the battery. i think its the liquid i use. i top off my own cartridges, so im sure a little bit of liquid got in it and dried.

Ok, I didn't have a battery with a switch sticking problem so I had a 901 battery that was flashing that it needed charging. I sprayed the CRC directly into the hole, put my finger over it and shook it a couple times. The light came on a couple times like the liquid was activating the switch. I shook the battery to try to shake out any liquid but most of it was already evaporated. I plugged it into the charger and it went green 2 hours later. I was trying to smell if any of the cleaner was left and there wasn't. Screwed on an atomizer and it works fine. No taste or smell of any chemical. So I concluded the CRC cleaner will not short out the battery.
