Thanks :)
I am really glad metukka came up with the 0.75 core idea and shapes. I like the last one the best, it has grooves at the base but they are really hard to see in the picture. Hopefully they will show up better in different materials.
At some point I want to make these on a 1 inch core too which should be pretty easy. These have a thicker diameter and may work well with the transparent Acrylic Acetate.

I like that last one the best too and now that you mentioned it I do see the grooves if I look really close. When you say thicker diameter you're just talking about the base right or thicker at the tip?

It looks like about half of the Acrylic Acetate blanks are transparent and when cut thin shows the stainless tube.
On the neck of this tip the diameter is .230", but the thickness of the acrylic is only .025" and the stainless is very visible. The diameter at the tip is .350", the thickness is .083" and the stainless tube is barley visible and looks good. Below the neck where it starts to widen out the diameter is .300", the thickness is .058". Here the stainless is visible but it doesn't look bad.
The smallest diameter on the straight tip is .362 and the straight bevel tip is .340". Both of these I think will work for the transparent Acrylic Acetate. The smallest diameter on the straight groove tip and the straight comfort is .310 and might look alright. The straight ming is .285", which may be to thin. Hopefully these thicker shapes will work well for the Acrylic Acetate material so I can make a line of tips that are very durable and still look good.

The actual tip is similar to the others I have made, but these shorties don't have a neck or much of one. The tip of the 1.25" ming is .350" with a neck of .230". Here is the tip diameter of the five .75inch tips
.362" - Straight
.310" - Straight groove
.362" - Straight bevel
.362" - Straight ming
.340" - Straight comfort

Not being able to make certain shapes in Acrylic Acetate has been on my mind since I saw the stainless showing threw it. I started to wonder if Acrylic Acetate really needs a stainless core for strength. After a few hours of programming on Wednesday I had a 1 inch straight Strawberry Mesh tip for testing. So far it has survived 2 days on a construction site and a 4 foot drop onto concrete with a Provari and a DID behind it. The damage from the concrete drop was a couple of tiny indents at the tip and a small chip on the square corner where the tip meets the top of the tank. I think if the corner was not square it wouldn't have chipped at all and I have to look pretty close to see the damage.
I also tried breaking the connector. I pulled on it sideways to the point I started to worry about the leverage on the connection between the DID and Provari. Next I took the tip out and tried to break off the bottom of the connector with my hands, but all I ended up with was a sore red indent in my finger. I am sure some needle nose pliers would do the trick, but that's cheating.
Making Acrylic Acetate without a stainless core also takes less time which would reduce the price by 3-4 dollars.

If I could get 3-4 people to beta test these for durability it would be great. I will mail you 2 tips (US only, non-US you can pay shipping if you like). One tip you get to keep and enjoy the other you get to beat on. When you are finished abusing the tip post up your results with pictures/video. It will be a couple of weeks until I can mail them because I have to do a little more programming and order more Acrylic Acetate.

Which material would you like the 1.25 ming in? Acrylic Acetate Pen Blanks - WoodTurningz

Wow, didn't know I'd have that option. Any of the following would be superb, whatever's easiest for you.

#25. Green Swirl
#11. Black/Grey Crush
#2. Cappuccino
#04. Cats Eye

Additionally, Comfort or Ming, 1.0" or 1.25" whatever is easiest and you feel the need to test.
