On the left is a hour glass made to fit a spheroid turned in fire nebula
Two on the right are....yeah they don't have a name, but need one. The top half is the same as the hour glass and the bottom is similar to a comfort.
Original comfort is in the line up to show how slender these new tips are.

I got in last night and had a great trip visiting family. Now that I am back in California I really miss the Washington scenery.
It is great to see everyone likes the pictures of the new tips. Those three tips will be used for testing and I can't wait to hear the results.
My brother now has my 1/8 HC tip. He also works construction so it will be a good test on the durability of the lava material.
This morning I programmed the stainless 5mm HC core and a 5mm DID hour glass profile. I am going to make some lunch then wander out to the lathe and see if the programming agrees with reality. Hopefully the 5mm bore will work well for direct dripping.

Lewis, in the meantime, do you plan to make a batch of some of your regular styles drip tips to sell? Thanks.
Unfortunately I can't operate the lathe and program at the same time. The tips I have been posting are the result of a section of programing that is finished. Once a section is finished I move on to the next. Once all of the programming is finished I can make a batch.

Update on the progress. Programming and testing for the original, 1/8 and 5mm cores is finished. Programming for the 4mm core and press fit connector is finished, but still needs tested. Next is shapes for the cores and finishing requested tips. Then a few more requests and a batch. There won't be any 1.5 inch tips in the batch as the current tooling has issues making these. After the batch I will replace these tools so 1.5 inch tips will be possible again.

When it is all finished the lathe will be able to make 4 different cores in 4 lengths with multiple shapes for each. It has been a lot of work, but I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. :)

5mm HC tips going out for testing.
For the left: blooming lilac, red sea and green ruby

Press fit connectors for wood turners. The stainless tube can be pressed into the connector with a pen press and turned on a wood lathe.
One of these cores I will be testing in deer antler. The other two cores and the connectors are going out for testing.

I have the main programming is about finished. The lathe is making 1inch comfort tips while I edit the programming for the original styles on my laptop.
