I started talking to the company that makes the motor and it looks like everything will work out. The new motor should turn the stainless with out any issues. The on/off switch and the speed control will be controlled by the computer vs a switch and a dial like the old one. It will involve more learning and programming which should be fun. It will also eliminate human error on my part, like not turning down the speed for drilling and parting.Thanks! Here's hoping you get the parts you need for your lathe soon.
Thanks, it is good to hear that you got two out of the four tips you wanted. There are lots of pen blanks out there, some people on the pen turning forums even make and sometimes sell their own blanks. When you know which blanks you want just let me know and I will add them to the list.
Yes it was really cool coming home from work and seeing that there was only five tips left. I am still shocked that they all sold so fast

OMG Lewis I got vape mail today and these tips are gorgeous! If I had known how beautiful and dark the bloody basin Casper was going to be I never would have requested the red with gold! I'm so happy that the red with gold was sold out when I got to do my purchasing lol! I got 2 of those beauties and I don't even care that they don't match my current set up I'm going to use them! I'm hoping the next batch will come out close to my birthday in May! I definitely want 2 of the 1 inch comfort charoite tips and still trying to decide if I want to go all tru stone for my tips or if I want to get the inland acrylester material cuz I found 2 purple ones (violet and purple haze) in there that I like to go with my gear or if I want to go all tru stone - I'd go with 2 favorite and 2 purple mother of pearl in tru stone if I go that route - I didn't really like the purple spiny or the sugi with black matrix - I'm seriously leaning towards tru stone all the way though

My tips arrived today in all their Pinnacle splendor! The red with gold will be sitting on my red Reo with brass RDA, both should arrive tomorrow, it will be gorgeous! Thank you so much Lewis! The 1.25" Genie Pink Zebra is beautiful, but it does not go well with the set up I was hoping to use it on. I am going to list it in the ECF classifieds for exactly what I paid for it. I hope no ones feeling are hurt or will be upset, I definitely did not buy it with the intent of selling it, I just don't want it to sit here, lonely and unused.

I have 1inch comfort in charoite on the list. I am happy to turn inlace acrylester or trustone. I can also add them both so you can see which you like best. The color was spot on, I have just gotten so used to my 1" comfort, the way they look and feel. It is no fault of yours that I am not keeping it, it is beautiful. I did get the 1" comfort pink, it is perfect!
Q: Has anyone had to clean any of the TruStone tips yet, and if so, what do you use?
I have one that appears to be loosing some of it's polish after a few months use, and I've been cleaning it regularly with mild dish washing detergent. I'm curious if anyone else has found a better way to clean them while maintaining the shine.

Its good to hear that you got a pink tip that will work.
The outside of the tip I use is acrylic. I rinse it in water and clean the outside with a dry paper towel.
You can try twisting it inside of a dry paper towel. A paper towel acts like a very fine sand paper and can bring back the shine. For pens I have heard of people using a plastic polish and a soft cloth, but I have never tried it. You could also send it to me and I would be happy to polish it again.

I just use warm water and wipe dry. Mine are all still shiny...all 12 of them.
Lewis I'm pretty sure I'm going to want 2 of the 1 inch comfort in charoite and 2 of the 1 inch comfort in purple haze - that's the one that keeps pulling me in lol - I do like the purple mother of pearl but I'm not sure the color will match my stuff after it's put on the steel core - I think it will fade too much as the website states and my battery is almost the same color as the purple in the purple haze - plus it just keeps pulling me back to it so I'm sure that's the one I want lol - I can't wait for May now lol - big birthday present for me will be more of your beautiful handy work lol - I'm just so glad you take requests
Thanks for the suggestions Lewis! I don't need to send it back because the dulling effect is minimal and it still looks great regardless. I did a little research and read about people using a small amount of toothpaste and a soft cloth to return acrylics to a polished look, so I might try that to see if it works.
The 1" comfort Charoite was one of the first Pinnacle tips I purchased, and yes, I do recommend it. The light-purple (lavender?) color and pattern are absolutely stunning!
There is no way I could begin to pick a favorite out of the 9 Pinnacle tips I have, but I will tell you the Charoite is beautiful, purple with lavender swirls, almost like rings on a tree. Because each one is different, even in the same color, they have a personality all their own.

I have not found a home for this beautiful tip. I will give it to the 1st person who sends me a PM for free. I truly want it to have a good home. I will even pay shipping.

I have wanted a charoite one since I first discovered Lewis's creations but at the time I had an all red setup and it wouldn't look right with it - now I have the ultimate purple setup and I want those tips - I considered 4 of them for my 4 different tanks but I also.like variety lol so I know I definitely want 2 and I'm thinking 2 purple haze cuz my battery is purple with white snowflakes on it

Tmcase it's all good - what I'm really holding out for is charoite tips cuz of my purple set up - I like the pink and black tip lots - it's pink and one of my favorite colors but I think I'm with in the clouds that on I'm used to a 1 inch comfort so it may feel wrong using it - I was actually thinking if it hadn't gotten claimed I would claim it for my second child (my girlfriend's daughter who recently gave up smoking for vaping and I set her up with her gear as her 21 birthday present on March 7) who also loves pink lol - but it wasn't going to be for my use - I'm just glad it went to someone who will use it
Ok then. I really like the genie design and only have 1. I might have to change my next order to include one.
