Life is still going well, other than I don't get to spend as much time in the shop as I would like. Yeah, those pesky adult responsibilities and all.

The last five months I have built a coolant system and enclosure for the cnc lathe. It cuts and drills the stainless much better now and uses food grade mineral oil for the coolant. I also designed and coded a new core that is held with a collet chuck on my wood lathe. This will allow me to stop the lathe and when time allows I can pick up where I left off. This of course isn't practical with a cnc machine. At this time I don't have any tips, but I hope you will enjoy the video.

Hope everyone is well and having a great 2016.

Wow! What a great video! I'm just mesmerized by the magical squiggly wispy green bits of acrylic flying around! That's just a marvelous piece of work, Lewis. You are so talented. I love the way you so gently and slowly and lovingly form the shaping and bring the tip to life!

Thank you!

Thanks, I am glad everyone enjoyed the video!
This weekend I finished programming the 5mm core and test it on the wood lathe. The tip is turned in acrylic acetate, blue/gold swirl. Hopefully next weekend I will get a few more hours in the shop to play :)

Just awesome! I'll take the first 3. ;-) How are you buddy? Don't you have a birthday coming up (or just passed)? Happy Birthday, if my memory is correct.

I had the guys in the warehouse watch the video you posted. They already thought you were under-pricing the tips. Now, they know. I think they finally understand why they are not able to touch them. :D

Thanks!
I am doing well. A little to much work and not enough fun, but such is life. I am glad you and your employees enjoyed the video. Thats funny they aren't allowed to touch them.
My B-day was on the 22nd. Playing in the shop was my present to me. I knew with turning 40 on a monday nothing would go well at work. Ironically Murphy was more than happy to wait. On Tuesday the master cylinder for my clutch blew on the way to work and on Wednesday I got sick.
Hopefully this weekend I will get a few hours to play on the lathe and have some more fun.

I am the only one allowed to give out the tips. I did give them each one of the ones you've made for me before. Next thing I knew, they were redesigning all their items to match the tips. LOL

I kind of hid on my 40th. I really didn't have too many issues with it, but everyone else was making such a fuss. I just treated it like any other birthday. I see the wife having issues with turning 40 though.

I'm glad you are finding some time to get back in the shop. It is hard getting time to work on projects. I rarely get to do any these days. I'm loving those new "tank sized" tips. Would love to see some in a wood grain. *hint* *hint* ;-)
