That's a beauty Ben....A Nivel chip right?.....Tell us more.....
duckie.........
Yes indeed, a Nivel! Never used one before this, but I love using Kicks in my mech mods so I can tailor the vape to whatever coil I make or atty I'm using. I also like the stutter to let me know my battery is dead. Anyway, it is very similar in practice to my ProVari - the # of button presses to enter the different modes - check ohms, LED brightness, on/off, wattage or voltage mode, power up / power down, etc. It's all there (the display is on the opposite side in the pics, so you can't see it). And since I like variable wattage, I have it set to that mode. All in all, I'd say it's like a ProVari in a pipe!

In terms of the feel, it's great. It's not too large or too small, and the 18490 fits in there nice and snug. I specifically requested the black painted version rather than the unpainted rosewood (which is gorgeous, but not my thing), and the finish is good. Small area of 'orange peel' in the paint on the stem near the 510 connector. But the feel of wood in the hand is wonderful (that's what she said), and the size and shape of the bowl has just a perfect hand-feel. With the kayfun and stem, it has a natural balance to it that just puts it at the right angle to vape in the hand so it feels effortless.

It ain't cheap, but my plans are / were to have 'one pipe in the stable'. I missed smoking a pipe for relaxing enjoyment years ago, and wanted to recreate that experience with one device that did everything I wanted - and this completely fits the bill.

Here's the link to the pipe on gr-modders for anyone interested:

The silence is deafen isn't?..... r7

I went to the web site for a look.....16mm wide is not bad....40mm long, not so good...$30.00 for a 3.2-4.8 VV well I don't know.

Looking at the picture of the device...It shows a air hole in the female 510 connection...If you have juice leaking?

I have Twist that I set at 4 volts, and a Kick I set at 7-8 watts (about 4volts w/ 2.0 ohm) so to me this wouldn't be bad, except for the form factor.....This is just a Twist, etc. at the end of the day.....If it was smaller?

Off topic, somewhat...Someone was going to make a sleeve/container to put a Kick in(something like this), but I lost the thread, anyone?

duckie.......edit...To answer your question...No....

Apologies in advance for my approaching this thread via skimming and searching and perhaps missing posts that answer all my questions.

I'm a fairly longtime vaper and before that a many-decades cigarette smoker who was always pipe-curious but never took the plunge. I've lately gotten an urge to get an e-pipe, and I think I know what qualities I would want from mine.

1. A fairly normal wooden tobacco pipe looking object that wouldn't be mistaken for anything else.

2. My main reason for wanting a pipe is the possibility of completely hands-free vaping (when driving, etc.), so auto switch for sure.

3. For the same reason, I would want something comfortable and lightweight to clench. I know that a bowlful of battery weighs more than a bowlful of tobacco. I think I'd sacrifice a certain amount of battery life in the interest of reduced weight, as long as I could still have an honest 3.7V vape. If plastic or acrylic fake wood helps fulfill that (but is otherwise reasonably sturdy) I might even be OK with that.

4. eGo fittings. I'm pretty stuck on my Kanger T-2 clearos (as they deliver vape nicely, I've learned how to make them not leak too badly and how to rebuild them). Carto tanks have some appeal as a second choice, but I'm not crazy about punching cartos and un-handy refilling.

I'm tempted by some of the modding threads and videos I've seen that, if properly combined, might see me through this. But I'm not so great with a soldering iron and have my share of around-the-house projects stacked up already.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Ben, that Kir Fanis pipe sounds like a real sure shot! Great features, great looks. The really did an impressive job with the engineering. Congrats! :toast:

Hey Paul. There aren't many auto e-pipes in the market. The only one I know of is the... Shoot can't remember the name. DSE-201c or -218, I believe? But you won't be able to use your t-2's on it, as I believe it takes proprietary cartos. Everything else I've seen is manual firing.

I'm with you on the 'mistake it for nothing else' point. I recently started making my own e-pipes with atty covers to get the realest possible look I can get. You can see some pics somewhere in the last 20 or 30 posts. E-pipes don't make great clenchers to be honest. But depending on the setup, it can be done. Also, I've found that the more bent the shank is, the lighter the feel. My volcano pipe is much heftier than my Dublin sitter, but feels a lot lighter when clenched because of the heavy curves. Just something to keep in mind.

Cheers

Thanks, Nick. I was able to find out that one of the two e-pipes currently available from thevaporgirl.com is an auto model (the Phoenix). A blog post on the site also mentions that they're working with a Chinese vendor to develop a widely eGo clearo compatible pipe of some sort, but no ETA. e-Pipes, Electronic Pipes, you know, the GOOD STUFF!

Thanks for the tip on curved pipes and weight. Makes good sense, and has probably been a consideration for pipe designers through the ages.

Hello All! I've been lurking on this part of ECF for some time now. Mainly to ogle the pipe pron and envy the talented builders. I bought a epm v1 when they first got up and running and enjoyed it for quite a while. Before that I went through several 601 pipes but became frustrated with them. I used the epm until my wife bought me a provari for a smoke free anniversary. Unfortunately, the vv of the provari won me over and my little 18350 batt epm pipe got shelved. Ever since then I've been jonesing for a vv pipe. This weekend I finally broke down and bought a Kir Fanis VV pipe along with a nice tortishell stem from epm and a tatroe tank from cigtech.

I can't wait until it all arrives and I wanted to share my excitement with fellow pipe heads. I'll post pics as soon as it comes in.

Those pipes are really beautiful and seem like a great, great idea. I have eyed them for a long time. Price point is definitely high, but they fill a niche on the VV/VW side for sure. They LOOK beautifully crafted. I am hoping that they not only function flawlessly but LOOK exquisite to justify the price. They do look wicked nice, I have to admit. I envy you!
