Yeah, there is no going back even to a higher quality (technologically speaking) device for me. I am in so cal and that means an hour commute to work from anywhere, so I only use my dildo in the car...but that is only until I get a beater pipe for the car. I am hoping we will see a legit VV pipe readily available soon.

Oh, unless my eyes deceived me, Jazz had a couple Isis Shorty pipes in stock on site as of yesterday.

Also with the Isis, shorter bowl, straighter walls (as opposed to the gently curved bowl of the Jazz), and flush 510 connection at the end of the shank, vs. the recessed 510 for accommodating cartos in the Jazz. Romaniac also offers the Isis in driftwood, which is the one I have.

Here's a comparison between my Jazz 18500, Isis, and EPM egg:

really a nice thread, took me around 3 hrs to go through the whole thing, but i would say it loud it was WORTH IT!!!!.

nice effort, i tried a convert with the briar pipe, did not come out as i expected. It would be really great, if someone would make a concise summary of the tips one has to go through while converting pipe into a e-pipe.

Thanks

I've been shaping pipes for about a month now, after some inspiration from a good friend and some encouragement from the wife. I've been having a blast. I'm essentially making epipemods clones for now as I have yet to find sufficient components in a hardware store to mimic the Romaniac design. I'm also going to try auto switch and back-of-the-bowl push button switch designs as I move forward.

My first crack at it was a block of briar that ended up like so:

After initially not incorporating a safety fuse, I decided to drill out another 3mm to fit a shortstop, and ended up with this:

 I couldn't believe it. All that effort, right down the drain.

I wiped the tears away :D and started working on a blank of curly Pyinma that I had waitin in the wings and came up with this:

The craftsmanship isn't perfect, but it sure works a treat! I'm in love, and I'm hooked. I have several sketches awaiting exectution, and lots more wood blanks waiting in the wings - including another block of briar (dammit!!).
