Upon the advice of other members, my first e-cig order shall be the Volt, and I am working on my order now.

Thus far, in my cart I have the Premium kit upgraded to the MEGA PCC and the 1.5 wall adapter. Also added some comfort tips and battery caps.

Question... the PREM starter kit comes w/ 10 cartridges. For someone who typically smokes 3/4-1 PAD, how many carts might I anticipate using per day? I did get a sampler pak since I am unsure as to what "flavors" I might like. But I've no idea how long the initial 10 carts will last....?

TIA

A cart does not equal a pack of cigarettes. It will depend how much you vape. If you don't vape non-stop all day....like if you only do breaks at work, etc. maybe 2 (3?) a day. (I was a PAD smoker, too) The prefilled last longer than when you fill yourself - at least it seems that way to me. I would get at least 2 packs and a bottle of juice to refill your carts while your waiting for more vape mail after your carts are empty. If you're new at this you probably don't know what you like yet, and if you're just quitting smoking your taste buds will change. I loved menthol when I first quit smoking....now I can't stand it. I didn't buy enough at first and had to go buy a Blu disposable til the mail got to me ($10 each! - ouch). I didn't want to go back to cigarettes at that point.
Also if you are just quitting you will go thru some withdrawal. vaping takes a little longer to deliver the nicotine to your system, too, so at first you might vape a lot than you will later.
At least that's what happened to me. 3 weeks in, the bad withdrawal was over (and it wasn't as bad as the other quit smoking products I've ever tried tho, so I hung in there).
You will like the volt. The batteries last longer than the other brands. My first one was another brand and all I was doing was charging batteries all the time. The volts are great little work horses.
And any problems, put in a service request....they are very helpful at Smokeless Image and take care of us good.
Hope that helps.

I think you're making a great call going with SI & Volt. I just got my first order this week. I have been off analogs for quite a while on another brand of pre-filled eCig/carts. So, I started out with a few auto X2s, some pre filled and blank carts and a few juices. I think this week I will pick upa couple spinners and maybe a starter kit just to have a mini on hand.

So far, I'm nothing but impressed with the quality of SIs hardware.

Hi Tommy....

I've tried e-cigs b4, but mostly just the disposables carried by the local smoker outlets. They sucked. I gave that idea up pretty quickly. Finding ECF yesterday showed me a whole new world to explore, so I got right into it.

I had quite a few responses in the New Member Forum praising the VOLT. Members here certainly have a hand up on me, so I took their advice. I was pleased w/ the pricing and this choice for a beginner. It looks simple and user-friendly, yet from reviews seems to also function well. And SI offered quite a few sampler packs for me to play with. The order is placed, so I am looking forward to giving it a go.

What flavors have you found that you like?

And congrats on quitting smoking!

Still figuring out the flavor thing. It's a bit overwhelming with all the choices out there. I've mainly been into vanillas and chocolates when I was on the old pre filleds, so I got the Volt Choc & Van as well as the NicQuid Strawberry Fuzz. Took me a couple days to get used to get used to the new juices, but I like the Vanilla and Strawberry Fuzz just fine. The Chocolate, not so much.

I understand that many who like tobacco flavors enjoy the ones offered by SI.

I hear ya... I ordered 3 diff samplers from SI as (a) I have nothing to compare to in the vape arena and (b) I could not flipping make up my mind. Definitely going to be some trial and error.

Samples are a great idea. I thought to myself "gee, I've been doing the vaping thing for a while. I know what flavors I like". Well, needless to say, every vendors flavors are different. I loved GS chocolate, but not a fan of the Volt Chocolate. Also, each individual's tastes are different, so just because I or someone else likes or doesn't like a flavor doesn't mean that is how you will feel.

Personally, I would suggest getting however many sampler packs are on the site - when I ordered my first set, I got all of the samplers, which gave me one of each on the site (before the new juice was for sale). Taste is so subjective and it changes after your taste buds repair themselves. I thought that I would like a tobacco flavor and I hated them all.....I thought that I wouldn't want the fruits and sweet stuff and that is mainly all I have now. I didn't like menthol before and I still don't so we are good there.

Also, the cartos are a good start but you should also try one of each of the PVs (Clearo, T3, CE3, Nano) to see how you like those too. You could ask on this site what everyone likes and you are sure to get one of each AND some other brands as a preference. Try the different batteries as well....auto and manual are each a preference and some like the bigger batteries, some don't.

Expect a little more than you spent on cigarettes at first, it will level out after a while. I currently have enough stuff to get me through three months of not buying anything BUT, I am going to buy some stuff today :)

LOL.. I think I ordered every sampler pack they had that was not an obvious "won't like". And I will try some of the other cartos and what not. I just wanted something to START with so that I can try discern where I might be headed from there.
Silly me... when I was net surfing for e-cigs, I thought one just found a site and ordered some. OH MY WAS I WRONG! I had no idea how far the choices and selection had evolved! A bit overwhelming.

I agree, there is a lot out there. Two extra points on that though.

1. I typically find two vendors I like and stick with them until they give me a reason to leave. By choosing, I read as many reviews as I can and find the ones who are most recommended. You can rely on negative feedback to a point but if you find 2 people that are mad for every 10 people who are happy, you should be good. Plus, I find the mad people are more inclined to post negative stuff so if there are a lot who suggest a vendor, that is good enough for me.

2. I find not all the time, but a lot of times, people on this site and others don't take time to read and listen to someone's issues. I had a lot of people suggest a variable XET1TWO Tornado with double twist voltage and kung fu grip when really I just wanted something that I didn't have to mess with. The more complex, the less likely I actually am to like it because I am way too busy to take 5 hours of my day assembling, cleaning and adjusting and I don't want something too big. Just something I can simply put in my pocket and go. A buddy of mind that I converted stuck with the cartos for a while. I merely suggested he try a few different things....what was good and what was bad and let him decide.

Spend some money and try a few things out...when you find your sweet spot....stop looking. The next big, new, awesome thing is probably coming but if you are happy, why bother.

Congrats on your choice NatashaR.

First, the 1.5a plug is a little overkill for the little batteries. Later, if you move up to the x2 batteries, it will help decrease charge time, so think of it as future proofing.

The little batteries are excellent for starting out. Duplicates most of the sensation and movements of smoking a real cig. If you find yourself chain vaping, keep in mind that the battery may only last about 1.5 - 2 hours. I used to smoke up to a pack a day, and found myself chain vaping at times. The little batteries generally take 2 - 3 hours to fully charge. Knowing these little tidbits may reduce stress later. Most people usually end up with 3-4 or more batteries to ensure a battery is always ready to go. Also, some just love all the available colors. :)

As long as the flavors are tolerable, you are ahead of the game. Sample as many different flavors as you can. That's half the fun. After 26 years of smoking, I haven't had a cigarette in 3 months. I still struggle with my tastebuds at times...

Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks... and CONGRATS on your quitting smoking.

I upgraded to the 1.5 plug as it was recommended to properly power the passthrough battery.... which I hoped could save my .... if the batteries were both DOA/charging. But perhaps I shall order some more batteries.

I'm still waiting for an email confirmation as to shipment.

Myself.. at this point, I'm more interested in keeping it fairly simple. I'd be interested to hear from folks tho as to FAV suppliers and FAV flavors....?

Sorry if I missed it. I thought you ordered 2 little batteries. The passthrough function is only available on the cigar sized, x2 batteries.

Well.. then I've no clue what I'm getting. The PREM starter kit comes w/ 2 batteries & a pass-through, but offers the 1.5 plug as an upgrade, and the info on the passthrough says to upgrade for powering the passthrough. I don't remember seeing anything that said the passthrough would not work w/ the batteries offered in the same PREM kit.....?

Beats me. I'd hope the passthrough in the kit would work w/ the batteries in the kit.
