truth be told, Natasha. At first you sort of go in the hole but it pays off soon if you stick it out :) find the setup you like and juice you like. And now I"m making my own juice and starting to build my own coils at dollars a week compared to when I used to spend $200 a month on cigs. But yes, at first, it's a lil bit of of trying out stuff to suit your needs.

Two fillings, same side, top and bottom, followed by root planing, same side, top and bottom. There was some difficulty with one of the fillings, and my system is resistant to local anesthetics, so it takes a bunch. I was once punched in the side of the face by a very strong, very angry man; except for the absence of lacerations inside my mouth, this feels pretty much the same.

I hope you get to feeling better soon and that your mouth heals quickly.

LOL.. I've noticed. But, you are correct as to expense of cigs. Last carton I bought was almost $70 = $280 mo = $3300 yr. That would be a LOT of vapin' stuff! :)

@NatashaR,
You are off to a great start. It took me about 3 months before I started saving money. But now, I think think I'm saving about $100 a month. I give my self room to buy more hardware if I see something I really want, but basically, all I need is more juice.

Since you are dealing with your teeth, I will note that a while back, I was helping my sis by refilling all her cartos for her. I saw marks on them, and it turns out she liked to bite down on them and hold them in her mouth like a cig. I told her she was clenching down on steel, but she wouldn't stop. I got her a bunch of rubber drip tips and told her to use 'em or give up her front teeth. Take care of your teeth....

Coincidentally, I've been having problems with my teeth since last fall. Aside from fillings, never had a problem before.... Now, it seems the problems won't go away... Hang in there.

LOL.. I ordered those rubber tips w/ my very first order. I'm not a biter, but I was not willing to risk that I MIGHT bite metal. Can't go there. "Mouthpiece" was a requirement b4 I ordered anything.

You are right... seems like once it starts, it's just ongoing. My teeth are problematic... and a money pit.... always have been. Right now I am going in once a week. Did I mention MONEY-PIT?? I am hoping that quitting analogs will be of some benefit in this area. The GOOD news is that I have FINALLY found a dentist who (a) listens and (b) truly is "NO PAIN". So far.... :)

Good am, Natasha! Hope you don't have any damage from the nasty weather that's been/is moving through Texas.
Remember, don't throw away any liquids just because you don't like them now. Hang onto them, and if you still don't like them, in 3 months or so, you can put them on the PIF thread, if you choose.
As for my dental adventures, I'm pretty much back to normal, now. In my dentists' defense: he almost never causes pain while I'm in the chair; it's the after-effects that get me. I don't know what dentists and doctors see when they look at me, but they have always been resistant to prescribing pain medications for me. And it's a little late in life to teach myself to leak and whimper when someone is watching.

PS--you know there's a chit-chat thread, if you care to join us?

Pffft... it's 65-70 degrees here, clear as a bell. So much for winter. I want it to at least be cool enough to wear boots.

Thanks, I'll find the CHAT thread. What is the PIF thread??

Hmmmm.... re: pain meds. Perhaps it's a new trend in denistry, as seems to me "ago" drugs were a "given". I've had a "procedure" of some sort done every week for the past 3 weeks, and the dentist has not offered to prescribe anything. He's basically just said "I'll call tonight and see how you are doing"... I guess meaning, we will deal w/ that if it's needed.
You should insist....and then hoard them!

It's near the top of the SI forum front page. PIF thread is near the top as well.

ECF also maintains a Pay it Forward thread, but I forget where it is. You basically wait until someone offers something that you want; then you accept it and post what your offer is for the next person. There may also be a way to just offer stuff up; I haven't been there in a long time, so I'm not sure of the rules.
