I'm relatively new to vaping and have been relying mostly on my eGo. Battery life on it is great!

Lately I've been looking around at mods and decided I'd like to give 6v a try and have narrowed my decision to The Precise after heavy consideration and comparison to available competition. Where I am most confused is with the actual batteries. I've been reading as much as I can form the Batt Mod forum, but its still coming pretty slow to me.

I understand with the p16 I can use a 16340 battery and is a 3.7 device where as the p18 uses an 18650 for 3.7 but can also use 2 of another type battery to achieve 6v. I've read people say that the battery life on the 16340 can last a little more than a day of moderate use and the p18 even greater!

My questions are:

1. Those of you that have already placed an order for either the p16 or p18, why did you choose one over the other? With a $20 price difference between the two, it seems like the p18 would be the most logical solution...

2. I've seen a couple links on where to get the batteries and chargers, how long do those batteries last on average? Should I have a stock of 10-20 on hand?

3. I'd prefer to carry the Precise with me everywhere like I do currently with my eGo, which of the two would be best for that?

At the moment, I'm leaning towards the p18, but would really like to hear from those of you that are more experienced than I.

TIA :)

I chose the p18 for the simple reason of being able to swap between 3.7 and 6. I already have two other mods, the 10440 Precise being one of them. That is why I am ordering the new bigger Precise, not because I need it, but because it is an awesome PV.

If you did decide to go with the P18 then you can get a couple AW IMR18650 for your 3.7 volt usage and grab about 4 AW lifepo4 cr123 and you will be set.

I would think any Super T mod could be taken with you as they are very sexy. ;)

P18 would be my vote for you.

I ordered a P16 because I already have an S6 for at-home use and I need a rugged, nice looking, compact PV for out and about.

If your use will be relatively static; in your (vape friendly) office or at home the P18 will be great. If you will be keeping it in a pocket when not in use, you may want the smaller unit.

Further, while both units look very different from a cigarette and thus will allow you to vape inconspicuously in places where a standard e-cig will get you odd stares and possibly worse, the smaller P16, when grasped in your hand, will be hard for strangers to even see.

P18 for I wanted the ability to use a 18650 and rcr123A for 6v if i so see fit versatility is everything too me. However the AW 18650 is more than likely the only battery I will be using in my device mainly because the battery life and yes I am one that will go 2 days with out charging if i can. :) hope this helps, either way you go i am sure you will enjoy you new P16 or P18 happy vaping :D

What he said plus one.

It's really a no brainer. 6 hrs out of a battery or 22-24hrs +, seems like simple math to me.

Hmmm interesting... I just may have to pick up 1 or 2 of the Low Resistance attys for a test drive. Do they hold up as well as regular atomizers. I read that they have a shorter life expectancy and I think most suppliers have no warranty not even DOA? What is your opinion?

Jeff
Now that low resistance atomizers are available in different sizes, I feel that 6V may be becoming a little outdated anyway. Low resistance atomizers seem to produce less burnt taste and a little less heat on teeth and throat. My vote is for the smaller of the two, the P16, combined with a LR atomizer.

Hi Jeff,

Here is my experience when it comes to Low Resistance. I first heard about them in the Super T forum and decided to hook up a 510 from nhaler to the precise. Sure the MAH is probably lower than it should be in probably all 10440's, but I did it and the results were great. Then I tried it with adapters on Super Six, VP2, and even Vaper 51. The problem is that several of the atomizers from nhaler were DOA. Likewise they were pricey. Also, they did not work so well with 801 to 510 adapters (connection failures). Then I found that I could get them at altsmoke for less. So, I got 510's, 801's, and one 901. I have tried the altsmoke 801 and it does deliver. The last nhaler 510 is still running, so I have not tried the altsmoke 510's yet. I hope that this is of some help.

If one wanted to safe a lot of money on product, but pay more for shipping Health Cabin now has 801 as well as 510 LR's at Low Resistance Atomzier : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

David provided that information to me.

Best,

Adrian

Why not the P18, where the LR is really designed to shine?

LR does indeed stand for low resisitance. They picked up the monicker shortly after they hit the market.

I can't really say for sure. The only ones I have tried are from Nhaler. I personally am not a fan of them. They are OK, but IMHO not something to write home about.

I use them when I need to fight a nasty demon at 3.7V, other than that the fad for me anyway wore off pretty quick, especially since I only drip in front of the tube or when testing my mixes. There isn't a cart or cart mod out there that can feed an LR adequately, so I abstain.

A lot is changeing the reason I use 6 volt mainly is when a atty gets weak and does not deliver enough kick for me or when I want a little more kick then average. I will switch to 6 volt to get it kicking again for me it has always been geting more life out of a atty and I have had 6 volt bring a atty back to life then work on 3.7 again. I am not one to follow a fad and do somthing just because everyone else is doing it but I will jump onboard if somthing works better in a heartbeat. So for the main reason I use both 3.7 and 6 volt I don't think it would be worth wile as I am content for the mostpart vapeing at 3.7 with a good working atty. All I do is drip I may use a cartomizer every now a and then but on my 510 and 801's I do remove the bridge and the little fiber deals and use a T-tip. Guess everyone has their favorite way of vapeing.

Now I did pick up some HV attys from eastmall cause they were the same price as the regular 510 attys and I did like them. They were very good I liked them a lot. But as I said I like 3.7 as long as the atty is a good performer if it doesnt have enough kick I go to 6 volt. I have had some brand new just not wotk as they should ........just plain out weak. Also had attys that were out and out a frigging beast.

I don't know guys....I've tried these LR atty's but i just don't like them at all.....I have been vaping at 6 Volt for the longest....I bought the P18 for the 6 Volt option....And I'm just going to stick with it.....I love my current set up....SS at 6 Volts with an HV atty has been treating me right............
