How long should they last? I think what I really mean is how many times can you reuse them? I always rinse with warm water before reuse. I just ordered new bottles and my intent is to toss the old ones, should I?
As they age you may want to use/fill them with the same flavor profile, they may eventually keep the smell. Still clean but they are plastic.

Yes you can reuse that type of plastic bottle without incident. I use amber glass bottles, but that's mainly for light reasons, not a fear of plastic. I'd agree that over time, the plastic may retain a smell or taste, even after washing, so a sniff every once in a while (or keeping profiles similar) should probably help with that. Best of luck,

Anna

If they're PET (transparent plastic)...they're manufactured for one-time use only. If they're the translucent LDPE or PP...they can be safely reused numerous times. If they're HDPE, which are usually, but not always, solid colored white or brown....same as with LDPE or PP.

It's up to you to decide if the sometimes remaining smell in them is bothersome or not. I've only had a few DIY recipes leave a strong smell in bottles, so I just resue them for those same recipes.
